Dr. Melanie Schmitt, MD

One of the most rude, condescending and self important physicians I have ever encountered (and I have encountered quite a few)

Dr. Schmitt fixed an issue that I had been dealing with since birth. She’s very understanding, respectful, and professional. I highly recommend her.

Very rude and unprofessional.

If I could give zero stars, I would. When I first saw Dr. Schmidt I was so excited. I felt like I finally had an explanation for what my symptoms were. And then she made me wait months to make corrections "to make sure I needed it" meanwhile I was crying everyday because I was in so much pain. She brushed off my ask for disability help for my university classes and made me feel like I was insane for asking about it. Dr. Schmidt's response to me not being able to see half the day was to tell me to deal with it. She never took me seriously, blamed my medical issues on purely stress and told me she didn't know enough about my issues to be able to help. She made me feel hopeless and I would never recommend her to anyone.

She treated my son's cataracts in both his eyes. She was amazing, my son is hyper and easily distracted but she and the awesome staff were able to get him to focus and get an accurate prescription. She answered all our questions on everything, even calmed his nerves for surgery. All my local eye drs are in awe when they see the work she has done on my son's eyes. She seems to put herself in each patients shoes so that she can do the best outcome for their needs. I recommend her every chance I get. She works with you to make sure all the needs are taken care of. She is focused, pro active, understanding, honest, and friendly. She is the one Dr my son doesn't mind seeing.
