Arrogant and dismissive
Staff was pleasant and professional. Dr.Shatby is arrogant and dismissive. Does not have a pain management strategy or understand pain levels. Left the room and did not return leaving my questions unanswered. Would not recommend.

Bunion Surgery
Dr Shatby corrected my bunion using his less invasive surgery. Within 2 weeks, I was out of my boot. I found him to be professional, caring and explained the procedure and next steps. The office has a great staff. Never waited long for anything.

I had surgery with Dr Shatby March of 2022. Every time I went to my follow up appointments he made me feel like my pain was me doing it to myself. His demeanor at my last appointment was terrible. He was swiping his watch not really acknowledging what I was saying. I then switched to Dr. Sykes at Neville’s . She is amazing and has been addressing all my concerns. I had to have another surgery yesterday. Dr. Shatby was very sloppy closing my incision up. Dr Sykes went in and cleaned out the big knots of sutures that Dr Shatby placed along with scar tissue. I wouldn’t recommend him.

Meena Shatby performed reconstructive surgery on my ankle. My wife and I found him to be insulting, brash, arrogant, and confusing. Postop as my wife attempted to get crutches plus an explanation of the surgery, he openly insulted her. After that, Meena was persona non grata with both of us. Although several attempts were made to obtain an explanation of the surgery, it took until our 3rd visit to get it. And only then as he tried to justify cast #3 instead of a walking boot. He also stated that if additional surgery was needed due to the boot, it would just mean “more money for him”. Such arrogance. In contrast, his staff was very professional, attentive, and caring. Meena could learn a lot from them. I have consulted with five physicians at WSMC since the 1980s (4 surgeries). Excluding Meena, they were professional, helpful, and caring. Overall, I have a high regard for the Centre and will continue to use their services.

I was so impressed with Dr. Shatby when he performed Achilles tendon surgery on me four years ago that I am once again under his excellent care for severe arthritis in my knees. Dr. Shatby is first of all an extraordinary surgeon, completely informed, extremely capable, and incredibly caring. His staff, from start to finish, is competent and efficient, and also very caring – a very rare find these days. Dr. Shatby, because of his expertise, is indeed in high demand, so he does not waste time, yet will spend as much time with the patient as he or she needs, answering any and all questions. Note: I always record my sessions with the doctor in case I forget something from the wealth of information he typically divulges. I highly recommend Dr. Shatby (and his staff) to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Shatby is a real doctor. I have gone through 4 surgeries with him and many steriod injections. Im not an easy patient, as they say, "Im a Zebra not a Horse." and Dr. Shatby is ok with that. He is kind gentel and stern when he needs to be. At my very worst when I was in the hospital and he came to take some blood off my new knee he listened to qhy I was so upset and he did something about it. I would never see anyone but him. That day in the hospital he really was my Super Hero. Thank you Dr. Shatby, I love you like family, Heather Grigson

I had a heel spur surgery by a podiatrist in Cypress, Texas that was a nightmare. The achilles tendon was taken off and the spur shaved down and the achilles tendon reattached. I was in terrible pain during my recovery and after 3 months of no improvement I went to Dr. Shatby who ordered an MRI and the Achilles tendon was torn by 50%. He managed to get me into surgery before the end of the year (12/3/2018). I required a tendon transfer to strengthen the Achilles tendon. Post operative pain seldom required any pain meds. If anyone can get you back on your feet it is Dr. Shatby. As far as staff...the clinic is ran professional and they do a great job of minimizing wait time. And if the time is extended they will let you know and give you a choice to reschedule. Elizabeth has been a great asset to his team and she is always a pleasant sight to see on any visit your luck enough to have her. Thank you Dr. Shatby and Elizabeth.

I have had a good experience thus far with Dr. Shatby and his nurses. He performed foot surgery on me on Thursday. It’s now Saturday and last night I was in so much pain that I had to call my insurance’s 24 hour hotline, who offered no advice other than to go call 911, which of course I did not. I wish he would do surgeries on Tuesdays rather than Thursdays so he would be available when problems like this arise.

My young daughter had emergency surgery for a broken tibia and fibula while on vacation. We had to find a doctor who took our insurance in our area to cast her leg and remove the plates and screws. Shatby seems okay but it’s the staff and busy office that make you feel like a number. We’ve been hung up on, left messages and nobody calls back, the staff called my mother in law about my payment instead of calling my husband, they tried to give us orders for PT when we’d been going for a month.

I had excellent results with my foot surgery performed by Dr. Shatby. He listened to my concerns and patiently answered all of my questions. I especially appreciated that he did not try to push me into surgery, but rather tried less invasive treatments before recommending surgery. My recovery was quick and my pain completely relieved.

I've been going to Wdl's Sports Med. since 89. Dr Shatby has done my knee surgerymy right broken wrist. He's a very good doctor and I like him my problem is with his staff. grown to be very they are unprofessional & don't care about their patients. You feel like you're on an assembly line being rushed in & out, changing from room to room. Stacy who is an assistant to the doctor is rude & very unprofessional. Canceled surgery got my MRI disk & will never go back. Sad because he's a good surgeon

Dr. Shatby does not know anything about hip replacements. He operated on my grandmother and it came out of socket TWICE. We asked him why he didnt do an anterior incision and he looked at us like a deer in the headlights and said, "I don't know how." Despite his incapabilities, his bedside manner was terrible. He did not care at all and released my grandma when her hip was dislocated for the second time! Everything we were worried about ended up being legit and he dismissed them all.
