She arrived 10 minutes late to my meeting. recommend canceling after the meeting had already started even though I was actively in it, and was extremely monotone throughout the entire interaction. It did not seem like she wanted to be there or cared.

I rarely leave reviews (which is usually the case for people with positive experiences), but when I saw the negative reviews listed here, I felt I needed to provide one. I have seen several psychiatrists in my life. I have never had a more positive experience than I have with this doctor. Contrary to what a few have written, she has always taken time with me to dig into the depth of what’s really going on, how my symptoms are, versus typical experiences with psychiatrists who basically just writes prescriptions and push you out the door. She feels like an actual member of my health care team and I would recommend her to anyone I knew. I’m sorry that others didn’t have good experiences but their descriptions are the polar opposite of my own.

Dr.shah shows little to no compassion for her patients. She shames you for medication your taking. She refuses to write refills without a visit. My last psychiatrist always gave 2 refills for a total of 90 days worth of meds. Dr.shah would require 3 appointments for the same amount of meds. Money grab? I think so.

Thinking of Rebooking? Don’t.
This is no joke… If you care about your job and you want to leave your psychiatrist feeling BETTER than when you came in (ideally, with each visit showing some progress)…. you might want to browse Zocdoc.com and choose a different option. I’ve been with Dr. Shah for several months now, hoping/praying things will get better if I just give her a chance... no such luck. Things have gotten progressively worse over time, my decline increasing in speed by the visit, and eventually leading to THE medical scare of my entire life. Dr. Shah has proven to be incompetent in every form, and shows a total lack of sensitivity/attentiveness/quality to her patients - from the onset, and all the way through... 20min meetings and she’ll change all your meds up without diving deep into your medication/treatment history - ever. Whether you have a mild or more severe condition, it’s highly likely she’ll fumble the ball w/ her ready-fire-aim approach. I highly recommend you seek alternative methods to care.

This doctor almost ruined my life
Dr. Shah refused to prescribe me the medication I have been on for over 6 years after talking to me for 1 min. She didn’t even seem aware when she came to the meeting which was always 10 min late. I don’t even know how she’s qualified as she doesn’t even seem all there during the sessions. I experienced care that could fall into malpractice. She treated me like I was an experiment and she could just be taking me off meds that I have been over for years and years . The absolute worst doctor I have ever had . She put my career at risk. I would be read the reviews on her before you choose to have her treat you.

Unprofessional / Uncompassionate Care
I was lined up with Dr Shah by her office personnel after being told she is able to refill ALL prescriptions I'm currently on. She was unable to refill two crucial medications of mine, so as a result, she offered to reach out to her provider network at Talkiatry to see if there was someone who would be able to follow through on my initial ask.... it has been two weeks now and I have not received an update or any communication whatsoever on the progress of this - from the office or from Dr Shah. I was also told I'm the perfect candidate for an ESA animal, and that all I would need is a letter from Dr Shah. Again, no communication or follow up on this. THIS IS CRUCIAL!!! What an unprofessional first experience - from the office personnel AND from Dr Shah. I'm baffled by the service I've received thus far and do NOT recommend going to Dr Shah if you have anything remotely serious going on.
