Dr. Maya Benitez, MD

Dr. Benitez is a young doctor of exceptional merit. I was referred to her by my insurance company as my primary care physician. The first time we met I was a wreck and she correctly referred to me a neurologist, working the system so I could see someone within a week. That neurologist got me a brain MRI within a week too, which resulted in a brain tumor diagnosis with emergency surgery the same week. Dr. Benitez got me the post surgery support I needed. She also correctly diagnosed me as potentially septic after I completed a heavy course of steroids. The ER doctor was really impressed that I arrived when I did. I easily could have died from the infection. Instead I spent a week in the hospital with no side effects. She has a very nice, calm demeanor.
