I have been seeing Dr. Goldstein for years as my primary care physician. He has been my favorite out of everyone I have seen. He always listened to me and gave me real help. I'm very active and tend to get injured with my my sports. He helped me recover every time. If he couldn't do it, the he sent me in a direction that would help. I liked that he was active and could relate to what was happening with me.

Excellent doctor
Dr. Goldstein has been my pcp for years, and he's absolutely fantastic. He listens to my many concerns, offers intelligent solutions and appropriate referrals, and has a very no BS attitude that helps a lot with my health anxiety. He's well-informed, thoughtful, and compassionate, and I always leave my appointments in a better mood than I arrived, with a more thorough understanding of my health.

Horrible Doctor!
I met Dr. Goldstein to discuss an injury to my abdomen that had shut down my waist muscles. I discussed my health history because those past injuries forced me into unemployment, and since I hadn't found a reason for the pain, thought they might have answers. Mr. Goldstein treated past and present injuries dismissively, stating in his notes they weren't that serious even though they were. I was in the ER 4 times for my abdomen injury. He bluntly told me in his office I was 'playing a victim' aske me 'what have you ever done with your life' and said I 'should just see a psychiatrist'. I was later diagnosed with celiac plexus trauma, MALS, visceroptosis, my linea alba torn off xyphoid process, diastasis recti. Being left in pain to suffer caused an autoimmune reaction that traumatized my skin globally, damaged irreparably. I humiliated, gaslit and was so shaken I walked out in tears. I had a witness who was in the room with me and was also perplexed by the poor treatment.

I went to see this Dr. for an injury to my abdomen. I had already been to many doctors to find answers and my waist muscles had stopped working properly. I thought a sports science Dr. would know what happened. I had tried to make correlation between it and past injuries. He cut me off frequently, and marginalized my health history. He said "I was playing a victim", I'd "never done anything with my life", and I "should just be on Cymbalta". I had an advocate with me who was also confused by the treatment. I was later diagnosed with MALS, which had shut down my GI system from nerve trauma and damage to my diaphragm. I had a lot of pain breathing, speaking and could barely eat, digest food, or sleep. There was soft tissue damage to my chest wall and a rectus diastasis from my sternum to my belly button. The pain I was in was accurately noted by my bariatric surgeon as debilitating. Dr. Goldstein had little bedside manner or patience. I do not recommend him.

Disappointing and lacked care
I recently moved to LA and have been looking for a new doctor. I came across Dr. Goldstein and met him for my annual wellness check-up and to discuss fertility. I met with an intake nurse immediately, I then waited 20 minutes for Dr. Goldstein and spoke to him about my fertility issues. He told me that despite trying for 12 months, I shouldn't worry. He provided me with a phone number to the OBGYN intake line as a referral and said it'll take about 3 months to get an appointment and by then I'll probably be pregnant. This guy didn't care and actually just doesn't understand women's health. Aside from this, my annual wellness visit consisted of him checking my heart and lungs, and that was it. After reviewing my report from the visit, it stated that my "glands and abdominal" were normal, but Dr. Goldstein didn't provide any physical exam. I feel cheated and like he didn't care at all. I'm disappointed I waited over a month to see him.

Turned away patient seeking mental health guidance
Do not waste your time if you have any sort of psychiatric needs. It took me months if not a year to convince my partner to get help for his mental health problems including anxiety, ADHD symptoms, depression and a few other things. “Dr” Goldstein happens to be his PP and I was excited for him to finally open up to him and ask for guidance on his journey to treatment. I say “dr” because doctors swear oaths to help. Goldstein was 30 minutes late to the appointment which was supposed to be a video call and ended being a phone call. Then, after my partner clearly laid out his struggles and clarified he’s not just looking for a prescription but guidance and help, Goldstein had the nerve to insinuate that he’s just looking for a prescription like other “entrepreneurs on the west side.” He told him he didn’t have time to help him because it would be too much admin for him and his staff. Did not recommend help or point him in any direction and completely blundered the call with what I have to

We all see Dr. G (Dr. Goldstein). My nieces and nephews call him Dr. Max LOL. I actually met Dr. G at urgent care for an issue I had a few years ago and he let me know that he also has a general medicine clinic as well (not just an urgent care doctor) so I’ve been going to see him ever since. I always feel so comfortable and calm and at ease with Dr. Goldstein because he’s like an old School doctor - a young guy but has those old school Doctor values. He isn’t like those other doctors to who charge a bunch of stuff or over bill. (one time I had an issue with a bill and I called the office and the staff was really helpful in contacting my insurance and fixed it for me (the insurance has a made a mistake). Dr. G loves to talk about mental health, diet, exercise, work/life issues when it comes to every issue I have which is good because I feel like sometimes Doctors just prescribe medication to fix and issue and he really wants to find other solutions.

I've been seeing Dr Max Goldstein for some basic medical care and I have nothing but compliments. Dr Goldstein goes above and beyond for making scheduling easy through the front desk, he is pretty flexible and also extremely attentive to his patient's needs and concerns. Genuinely nice and extremely professional, he makes every visit smooth and cares a lot about his patients.
