Dr. Maureen Russell, MD

Dr. Russell is the best. I was so nervous about having an ablation but could not be happier under her care. She was so caring and answered all of my questions. On the day of the procedure she was even right there as I went under anesthesia. All of the problems that I was having are gone now and I'm so happy! I highly respect and value Dr. Russell's expertise as a doctor, and she seems like she would also make an amazing friend.

It’s been almost a year since I saw Dr, Russell. She was in the process of leaving her position with BHS but made sure to get me in, tested and diagnosed before she left. She recommended a wonderful Oncologist and told me she was the best (which she was!). I was very happy with my experience with her. I had not even been her patient prior to my episode! Honestly, I believe that Dr. Russell did everything possible to expedite my cancer diagnosis and get me treated. I am grateful to have found her, and I will travel as far as necessary for an appointment with her!

I have never had a more caring doctor in my life....She is and has been my doctor for 20 years and i will follow her anywhere! I need her care as she has always had my best interest in her heart ! I miss her and would like if anyone can advise me where she is practicing at this time!

I have never been treated so poorly by an ob/gyn. I had a bad feeling about her proposed course of treatment and when I asked questions she acted like she was God and how dare I question her. I immediately sought another opinion and was told by my new ob/gyn as well as a PCP that her treatment plan was drastic and unnecessary. My issues resolved easily with far less invasive care. She is curt, condescending, and I question her knowledge base.

She is short, rude and condescending, she has no time for her patients you are just a number. She is over booked in my opinion. She canceled my visit due to being overextended and couldn’t get me back in for 2 months. Currently looking for someone who listens and doesn’t overbook

Dr. Russell is an amazing /caring doctor. I would/ do recommend her to everyone.

I LOVE Dr Russell! I have been going to her for about 20 years. She did my hysterectomy because of precancerous cells. She explained everything to me. Her bedside manner was fantastic. I recommend her to everyone! She is very knowledgeable and she knows what she is doing. She takes her time and makes sure you are comfortable and answers all your questions.

Dr. Russell is rude and arrogant. She has no time for you, not interested in your concerns at all. I will not be returning.

Dr. Russell is arrogant. She admitted to me that she does not like the patient portal because it give the patient too much information and she doesn't think they need to know that much. She'll tell them what they need to know. No bedside manner. Before surgery, didn't even step into the room. After surgery couldn't bother to talk to my husband in person. Her delay in 2nd surgery caused my condition to worsen so that a simple procedure would not cure it, I needed a specialist and major surgery.

Honestly I find her to be quick and totally impersonal with her patients. I felt like I was cattle herded through my appointment. I had to wait one hour to see her (as I have had to for the past 5 years), and she was done with me in less than 5 minutes. She obviously has enough patients and clearly needs no more, so I will be looking for another OBGyn in the Pittsburgh area --they can not all be as rude as her.

She is a phenomenal Doctor and person. She really cares about her patients.
