I had posted this review in Oct, but someone removed it. I had Sleep Apnea (SA) surgery in Apr 06, then again Jun and Aug 06. It was a disaster. She ended up removing scar tissue from tonsils I had out when I was 5 yr old. There was so much going on in my throat after 3 surgeries and healing. SA surgery the Uvula is removed and Soft Palate shortened, but because of removing scar tissue 3 times it ended up all healing to back of throat with only a little hole for sinus drainage and breathing. I was referred to another physician that gave me shots in the back of throat to stop the hole from getting smaller. He tried to open the hole a little bigger to give me comfort but after 2 more surgeries he referred me to Stanford. They could help to make hole bigger, but I would need to wear a piece in my mouth so liquid and food didn’t go up my nose. Decision was made to deal with what I have. Every Physician or Specialist I see needs to know about my throat & 15 yrs has been very difficult.

Mainly, Dr. Mulkahy has integrity issues. My son has an enlarged lymph node on his neck. It has been there for 3/4 year. An ultrasound was done in January with a plan to do another ultrasound in April to see if it changed. Come April, without even seeing him again, she refused to order the ultrasound. She was arrogant and condescending. Though ultrasounds are cheap, quick, and non-evasive, she considered another ultrasound unnecessary based on her omniscience. She went back on her word.

I recently underwent sinus surgery with Dr. Mulcahy to fix a deviated septum and clear my sinuses. Dr. Mulcahy explained my options clearly and left the decision to me. She and her staff clearly explained the surgery and recovery when I decided on this option and prepared me well. The results of my surgery have been excellent. I am able to breath in both nostrils, something I do not remember doing in the past. I am able to sleep without snoring and sinus related headaches have lowered.

After two hours of waiting to see Dr Mulcahy, I was blessed with a 10 minute assessment of the audiologist report. She completely misunderstood my reason for visit. Even though I corrected her, my medical report indicated that I was there for dizziness (which I explicitly denied) and giddiness which I have no idea where that came from. Unprofessional.
