Dr. Matthew Wise, MD

I went in near the end of a Friday to figure out why I had a rash on my forehead and was experiencing pain and numbness on right side of face. Dr. Wise has a kind, calm and friendly demeanor that I think would put any patient at ease. He is very knowledgeable and quickly identified my infectious as Shingles, which had also infected my eye. Had he not prescribed anti-viral medication and steroid eye drops that Friday, I could have been in a very bad situation this morning. Instead, the eye doctor I saw on Monday morning (Dr. Wise had even gone to the trouble of calling multiple eye doctors in town to try to get me in as quickly as possible, and helped schedule the earliest available appointment) was not concerned at all and it appears that my condition is already starting to improve. I’m grateful to Dr. Wise for setting me on a path to recovery quickly — it could have been a bad situation if I hadn’t received his help on Friday. Very knowledgeable man and really helped me out.

Dr. Wise is a nice man and very knowledgeable. He has a great bedside manner. Attended one of the best medical schools in the country. He candidly admitted he did not have a better understanding of the problems that exist with many of Flags (public) behavioral health care providers. When I called for an appointment, I was told that he is at NAU (and only seeing students) NAU's gain-Flagstaff's non-student(s) loss. I hope he returns to private practice soon.
