Great family doctor
My wife and I both go to Dr. Werner and couldn't be happier with the care we receive. Scheduling appointments is fast and convenient. Dr. Werner always listens to our concerns and is personally invested in our care. If you're looking for a family doctor in Bellingham, I'd highly recommend Dr. Werner and Family Care Network.

fast and mistaken
He was quick and courteous. That’s where it ended. He misdiagnosed a simple infection and did a very incomplete exam to support his preconceived idea. He prescribed the wrong antibiotic. I became worse and quickly got a second opinion and on the right medication. I tried to call Dr Werner and ask for him to reconsider his diagnosis and was told “he doesn’t talk to patients “. Even ones who are physicians. Scary and awful experience. No humility makes for a dangerous doctor

When I was 17 I suddenly became seriously ill- extreme fatigue, muscle fatigue, & seizures. I could hardly walk, couldn't use stairs & had to spend a majority of time in bed. I went to see Dr. Werner about it after a month. I looked so bad that the receptionist and nurse would would ask if I needed to go to the E.R., however Werner dismissed my symptoms as being side effects of my fluoxetine (which I had been on for months with no side effects) & had me stop taking it cold turkey- no weening off it. Wasn't the cause & didn't help my symptoms at all. I had to ask for each & every specific test to have done because he took no action- even though I saw him multiple times about how severe my health was. He didn't even test me for my mom's condition until I asked after a couple appointments, despite KNOWING about her condition because he was her doctor too. It should be obvious that something is seriously wrong when a 17 year old suddenly can't walk, instead he gaslit me and didn't care.

without a doubt the best doctor I've seen. I don't know how many doctors will let you sit and cry at your appointment without rushing you along. He is patient, kind with a great sense of humor.

I highly recommend this very professional MD. He listens carefully, asks good, pointed questions, examines his patients carefully. His diagnoses are based on thoughtfully assigned tests and his thorough examinations. He provides non-nonsense, experience-based recommendation and advice to the patient. Happy to have Dr. Werner as my PCP. My close family member switched to him from another PCP.

Best doctor I have ever had. I had to tell my mother to transfer care, and Matt is the only MD in Bellingham I would recommend. Intelligent, caring, and a great guy. Not a fan of the company he works for, but it's worth putting up with if you can have an awesome doctor. I wish we had MDs like Matt where I currently live.

This doctor did not explain the side effects of my medication to me which causes extreme fatigue. I nearly fell asleep driving when the medication took effect. When I asked for a different medication, he incorrectly stated they all have that effect. This is false, I have been on medication to treat my problem that don't put me to sleep. He also arrogantly assumed to have cured a years long condition in 15 minutes by prescribing an old treatment that didn't work. Terrible doctor.

Dr. Werner is very friendly and is probably fine for treating straightforward ailments. However, I kept going in to see him because I was feeling ill and knew something was not right. Instead of trying to get to the bottom of it, I was repeatedly asked questions alluding to the fact that he thought I was depressed. Finally I referred myself to an OBGYN (kept looking up my symptoms which pointed to an ovarian cyst WHICH I MENTIONED TO HIM MORE THAN ONCE). Lo and behold I had 2 cysts.
