Don't trust....Get A Second Opinion
Dr Tobin has given new meaning to the importance of second opinions. If he suggests multiple unnecessary procedures and is disrespectful of your time and questions, please do your own due diligence. It will save you from the anxiety and frustration that his office creates.

Look elsewhere
2.5 hour office waits are brutal with no sympathy from the staff or doctor. I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy as the doctor has poor bedside manner. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend his practice. Please do yourself a favor and find a new urologist. It will save you money, peace of mind and stress. Good riddance!

Like other have stated he has the God complex. Found him to be rude and condescending. He is not a doctor I could recommend under any circumstances.

Exceptional!!
Needed to get some answers after being told to go to the emergency room by my nephrologist and GP. Tobin's team listened and got me into the dr office the very next morning, set me up with a few tests and were kind, attentive and professional. Cannot thank them enough for putting my concerns at ease!

As a long time patient of Dr. Tobin, I've had enough of his lack of respect or regard for me or my time as a patient and have left his practice. Twice, I've been cancelled at the last minute for a surgical procedure. I'll leave out the details, but suffice to say, fool me once, fool me twice... Frustrating and rude staff. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

will never return, i had one blood test with my cardiologist and said i had a slightly high PSA 5.6. and when i took it i might have had a UTI. went to Dr tobin and did a urine test (which when i called for the results they could not find it) and a finger exam, told me he felt no lumps but wanted to send me for surgery for a biopsy even though i showed no signs of prostrate cancer. talked down to me and did not even give me the chance to ask questions. avoid this hack like the plague. all he wants to do is cut you open. you would think he would of done a second blood test to confirm the findings......

my mother was a patient of Dr Tobin... and I'll agree he has ZERO bed-side manner, he is an excellent physician who doesn't sugar coat what is going on. Although my mother has recently passed, his quick diagnosis and subsequent treatments which included getting my mother in with the best bladder surgeon in the US for surgery was commendable. He did everything in his power for her. Unfortunately it was God that had another plan. So... yes you may wait in the office for a bit and he is short on patience he is extremely knowledgable.

ABSOLUTE WORST. Every interaction has been frustrating beyond belief. My husband always sits in the waiting room for over an hour every single time he has an appointment. Currently, we have been waiting WEEKS for a phone call with very important test results, since it's considered an "appointment." We finally get one scheduled for 8PM and we miss the call because the doctor doesn't actually call until 10PM when we are asleep!! Now we're stuck waiting several more WEEKS for a new "appointment." Here's a thought. If you know you always run late, then maybe you should schedule patients accordingly?! It's a lot easier to get respected when you respect others. And by the way, the people who work in the office are just as inconsiderate as he is. Once we get these results we will be taking our valuable time and business ELSEWHERE.

I have been seeing Dr. Tobin for urological problems that come along with age. I have found him to be very knowledgeable and compassionate in his care. He explains the procedures that he plans to do and thoroughly answers all questions. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a urologist. A.T. in Howell, NJ

Zero patient communication skills. The wait is at least 4 months for an appt, a minimum 1 hr office wait, and at best 5-minute "consultation". No physical exam, despite presenting with a complaint of flank pain. If I hadn't read my diagnostic studies, I would not have been able to ask for clarification because he did not review the results, rather suggested a surgical procedure for evaluation. When describing my pain with medical terminology (as I've had this before and was diagnosed in an ER by a surgical urologist), he actually yelled at me for using medical terminology an I was "just a layperson" (with 20 years of medical office experience). He ordered additional studies, and did not call with results. Thankfully, I obtained my own copies as there were results which need evaluation. Please, for your own sanity and safety, find another urologist.

No Longer A Patient – Nov 19, 2019

My husband's first visit: We knew we would be seeing a PA and we were fine with that because we were able to get an appointment so quickly, and ultimately everything the PA does is reviewed with Dr. Tobin himself. Everyone was just wonderful, starting with the woman at the front desk. We saw the PA Ilona who was very knowledgeable and kind, and took her time explaining everything.

I have been using Dr Tobin for a few years. He has the worst bed-side manner that I have ever experienced. He performed a surgery on me that left me with major long term complications. When I called to ask for help resolving my problems from the surgery, he acted like I shouldn't be complaining and that he made me feel like I was overreacting. When I last visited him in his office, he came in the examining room with an attitude. He told me to go elsewhere if not satisfied & walked out. RUDE!

I wrote a review of this doctor/doctor's office a few months back that wasn't the best. I did state that the review was mostly related to the office staff and that I would write another review after another appointment. I was correct in my assessment. This doctor is a caring doctor. I would highly recommend him. He really is great. Office staff which most likely is the way it is because of the management really needs some work. They are responsible for probably all of the bad reviews.

I wish I had taken the time to read these reviews before I put myself through being this mans patient. So many things in the poor reviews are true. Whether its his God complex which is the worst I've seen, to him making you wait hours, to his grumpy staff, I don't know why I didn't speak up sooner. And he just lost Dr. Kim who was a breath of fresh air. He also recently lost a female doctor. Someone told me he's been through 5 doctors in 5 years. Doesn't surprise me & hurts us patients.

Anyone considering Dr. Tobin do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. You can expect to wait multiple hours to get in to see him, & thats if you see him at all. The vast majority of time you get stuck with one of his PA's. Once you finally do get to see him, he gives you 5-10 minutes of his time, and then passes you off to a PA again. He & his entire staff display no level of professionalism or even common courtesy. Im not sure what he thinks hes offering that he can treat patients the way he does!
