Unhappy
I wanted so much to love this doctor. I am unhappy with my results. One breast is larger than the other, and my nipples are going in different directions. I’m also unhappy with the size I feel like I could’ve gone a bit bigger. Honestly I did not like our first meeting. He was very quiet and not very warm but I stuck it out because of all the good reviews. He did not ask for a Wish picture. I had to offer it to him. I kind of feel like he had his own thoughts of what he wanted to do regardless of what I was looking for. One of the major problems with Dr. Kilgo was postop.. i was worried because one breast became severely enlarged and I was told to look out for this because it might be an emergency. So I wanted to contact Dr.kilgo about it , to put my nerves at ease, they told me that I could not speak with the doctor, unless it is an emergency. Well, I felt it was!!! So they directed me to his PA. That is not acceptable after paying close to 18 grand. I need my breast fixed!

Dr. Kilgo and Dr. Bobby made a very scary experience much easier for me. I was terrified to get a prophylactic double mastectomy. But they both put my mind at ease and really helped me through. I felt very comfortable and in good hands before and after each procedure. They were knowledgeable and professional and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I am so thankful for the them.

Dr. Matthew Kilgo is truly an exceptional surgeon. I was referred to him after being diagnosed with breast cancer. He was very knowledgeable, sensitive, and informative. He answered all my questions and concerns and made me feel at ease. I felt very confident I was receiving expert medical care. I ended up having a double mastectomy then a few months later a diep flap breast reconstruction and I could not be happier with my results. He has an amazing staff, especially his PA, Bobby Matthews and his nurse, Debbie. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a surgeon.

Dr. Kilgo, PA Bobby Matthews, and the entire staff at LIPS in Garden City are beyond amazing! At 35 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and required chemo, radiation, surgery. I was referred to Dr. Kilgo who performed the breast reconstruction of my double mastectomy. Right from my initial consultation I knew I was in great hands! Dr. Kilgo & PA Bobby are both extremely thorough, kind, and respectful and I was never left with any unanswered questions. Dr. Kilgo also performed fat grafting to my right breast as the radiation caused thinning of my skin. He is total perfectionist which I think is the most important quality a plastic surgeon should have. I cannot recommend him enough!!

Dr. Kilgo performed my breast implant replacement surgery on July 20, 2020. I waited 4 months to write this review. My opinion hasn't change. I required the surgery as both of my 33 year old implants ruptured. I am very disappointed with the outcome. One of my breasts is now about 3/4 of an inch lower than the other, an issue I did not have before. I also have rippling in both breasts and the size is smaller than what I wanted. I truly regret using him as my surgeon. I had my original implant surgery at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group by Dr. Alan Gold in 1987, and he did amazing job. Unfortunately, the LIPSG is not what it once was. Dr. Kilgo, in October 2020, did offer to replace these new implants at no charge, but he said could not speak for the anesthesiologist fee. I would not take the chance of using him again. I would highly recommend using a plastic surgeon who has his/her own practice, or is in a very small group who can give you the attention you deserve.

Dr. Kilgo I can't thank you enough for the excellent job you did with my breast surgery. By your skill and talent you have given me something I never dreamed I could have after a double mastectomy. I also thank you for being super brave and performing this surgery during the peak of COVID 19 pandemic. Thank you to your awesome team PA Bobby, Jenny and the people in the office.

I was impressed with Dr. Kilgo. He is patient, extremely detailed and knowledgeable and his caring manner put me at ease. I could immediately tell he was a caring and excellent doctor. I was referred to him by my surgeon for another medical issue and Dr. Kilgo explained how I did not need another unrelated cosmetic procedure and took an interest in my abdominal surgery. I know that I will return to him for breast surgery.

This was a post-surgery follow-up. Dr. Kilgo's PA, Bobby, was very helpful and answered all my questions putting me at ease. Dr. Kilgo was able to come in which was great. His bedside manner is exactly what I need...informative and calming. So happy that my breast surgeon recommended him! The surgery seems to have been successful and looking forward to being totally healed!! Thank you Dr. Kilgo!
