Cancelled appointment on the spot- billing excuse
Telehealth
Made appointment after a 2 month wait. On the day and exact moment of my dad’s appointment, Matthew Givens, MD cancelled the appointment because he said there was a billing conflict. Said even Tony dad was discharged from the hospital that morning, he was still an in- patient, up to 24 hours after he left the hospital and therefore my dad could not have this appointment with him. I called Medicare and no, no there is NO SUCH THING AS BEING INPATIENT AFTER YOU LEAVE THE HOSPITAL FOR UP TO 24 HOURS. My dad was confused and extremely disappointed and frustrated with Matthew Givens, MD actions. DO NOT GO TO PALLIATIVE CARE AT FRED HUTCH WITH Matthew Givens, MD- they will cancel on you for non- existent “policy”.
