Unless you are a young athlete find another doctor. He was dismissive to me and told me to take an over-the-counter pain reliever because I have arthritis when I actually have torn meniscus. Experiencing pain and limited mobility. I am a young 60s and am extremely active.

Simply the Best
Dr. Diltz performed my ACL surgery four years ago and it as good as new. I have full range of motion and the same strength that I had before the surgery. I was able to snow ski within 5 months of the surgery (though not advised) and I am not limited in any way. He did ACL surgery one month before me on my wife and it has been extremely successful. She has had similar results to me. I recommended my buddy who had his third ACL and meniscus surgery done by Dr. Diltz…same result…he was back to skiing and mountain biking within months. Dr. Diltz has a terrific bedside manner and explains everything without any condescension (that some docs give you). He’s a great doc and I hope I never need him again…but would happily go back.

A Rolls Royce of orthopedic surgeons
I suffered for months with terrible pain in my left leg. I only wish I had been referred to Dr. Diltz sooner. He did Arthroscopic surgery for my bucket handle meniscus tear and now 3 weeks later I am pain free, a new person, up and around and walking. Not only is he a fine surgeon, he is also very caring and compassionate. I am beyond satisfied and I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Diltz's manner was both professional and friendly. He answered all of my questions without reserve. I did not feel as if I was being rushed especially since I drove 3 hours for a consultation with him. I appreciated that very much as he allayed many of my concerns and offered some alternatives for my care. The office staff was great too. Thank you.

Dr. Diltz put a plate and screws in my broken wrist in January 2016. I've had problems with pain and decreased mobility in that wrist since then. I now have swelling on the back of my wrist as a result of his using screws that are too long. The screws are shredding a tendon and I now have to have the plate and screws removed. If you need wrist/hand surgery, see a hand surgeon, not Dr. Diltz!

He did an arthroscopic procedure for torn labrum in hip, a week later I have less pain than before the procedure which is way ahead of schedule, It could have taken a few months to be st this point so I’m incredibly happy!! I recommend him and Eiesnhower hospital to have this procedure done, everyone was GREAT!!

Dr Diltz continues to see me for other orthopedic problems that arise. He never ignores what symptoms I am presenting to him. He is thoughful and considerate at whatever I ask him about my health &what is the best option. He is a good listener, easy to talk with & responds in a way that is understandable. He has good bedside manners no attitude. His PA Murphy is highly skilled, studies right along Dr Diltz, easy to talk, knowledgeable. His office staff excels in helping you. The place rocks!

Dr. Diltz seems to have very limited abilities to solve any orthopedic issues that may not require surgery. He does not appear to be able to solve problems based on listening to symptoms given. In all of my visits he never once did a physical evaluation of the areas I was complaining about. After a request from me, he did complete one movement test to see if pain was produced. In my opinion, if your limb isn't hanging by a thread, you should take your business elsewhere.

My daughter had knee pain and was leaving for an intensive tennis academy and we needed to see the doctor right away. We actually got a same day appointment due to a cancellation. Our office wait time was minimal and the doctor was very thorough. He took X-rays on site and then expedited an MRI with only a 1-2 days wait . He spent ample time talking with us about his prognosis and then offered to call and email the MRI results while we were headed to the camp.

Dr Matthew Diltz is one of the best sports medicine orthopedic surgeons in Coachella valley. I have used him multiple times. His entire staff is personable, friendly and professional. From his PA, nurses, right down to the entire staff working at the DOC in LaQuinta, EMC Argyros health center. The doctor's team rocks

This doctor is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors you can find. He is totally dedicated to each of his patients to deliver the highest level of orthopedic care at Eisenhower Medical Center. He is friendly and personable, listens and never rushes you. Answers all your questions. He uses arthroscopic techniques in his surgeries. He has performed 2 successful surgeries (hip, tendon repairs, shoulder) and I couldn't be more satisfied.

I had surgery for a dislocated knee cap. Unfortunately, 3 1/2 months after surgery, I have worse pain now than before surgery, my physical therapist was the person who found out that my knee cap is still not in the correct spot and Dr. Diltz had no suggestions of what could be wrong. Office staff for Desert Orthropedic Center, in general, work extremely slow. Not pleased because I will most likely be needing another surgery and I will be having that done by another surgeon. Do not recommend.
