Great doctor!!
Dr. Akhtar took me in immediately after being seen by my primary doctor. Dr. Akhtar went over the EKG and scheduled a cath to be done asap. So thankful Dr. Akhtar was so vigilant in getting the cath done. He then transferred me to UNC CH where triple bypass surgery was done. I would highly recommend Dr. Akhtar.

Great heart health at 82 thanks to Dr, Akhtar
I chose Dr. Akhtar for my cardiologist since my wife had been seeing him and she was highly pleased with her care. He has cared for me before and after my triple bypass surgery, and I am always confident that he has my best interests covered, He is friendly and concise and allows time for questions and answers. His desire to see one's very best heart health is evident in every appointment.

Terrible
I went to see him about a racing heart. He dismissed me and gave me beta blocker. The only thing that did was bring my blood pressure down even more. If he did his job and listen to me I have low blood pressure. I went to the ER by ambulance and the paramedics told me what I have. I have atrial Flutters and artifact flutters. Go to Duke University to get proper care.

Dr. Akhtar has a very bad temperament. When my husband questioned him on an upcoming procedure, he made us feel stupid. We ended up getting a second opinion and his analysis was wrong! We would never recommend this Doctor!
