Dr. Nielsen didn't even introduce herself to me before telling me her treatment plan. She did not take any history or ask any questions. She simply walked into the room, folder her arms across her chest, leaned up against the wall, and told me what she thought was wrong with me. I was stunned by the confrontational bedside manner and how off-base her assessment was (how could it be accurate? she hadn't even talked to me before making her assessment). Any attempt to provide background or inquire about her plan, or collaborate towards a joint understanding of the problem was met with an outright scowl. I've never been treated so abusively as while under her care. I'm not sure if it's just bad bedside manner or outright compassion fatigue, but until she figures her situation out I would encourage any patient that chances across her to run in the other direction.

Dr. Nielsen did not even evaluate my family member before determining her plan of care. Her decisions were in direct conflict with the primary doctor that had been communicated to us less than 24 hours before. She lacked people skills and had a very confrontational bedside manner. Instead of committing herself to providing quality care she used the lack of mental health resources in Minnesota as an excuse to release my family member without an adequate outpatient plan. Additionally, she did not come back for further discussion before proceeding with her plans even after promising to do so. If we could give zero stars we would.
