Dr. Mary McKenzie, DO

My PCP was retiring. My excellent Cardiologist, Dr. Mark Thel recommended a list of five PCPs who accept my Insurance! Dr. McKenzie's office was @ CHI Memorial on Main Street. It was the closest to my home! Later she moved to Chi Memorial on Signal Mtn. I followed her! I drive from brainerd all the way to the top of Signal Mtn for her to be my PCP. She is very knowledgable, professional, patient, and careful. She takes the time to to explain everything and to answer questions. When my excellent Nephrologist Dr. John McCarley diagnosed me with 3rd Stage Kidney disease, she went over all my medications and switched me of of ones that were too hard on the kidneys to ones that are not! Her wound specialist Bet and her whole team are excellent! I thank GOD Dr. Thjel recommended her and that her office was originally closest to my home!

Dr. Mary McKenzie is very kind and caring. She is a wonderful doctor. She is the Best you will find. She is gifted as a Doctor and a Person. She will help you Always. Dr. McKenzie has alot of compassion for others. She is a very Special person.

My apts with Dr. McKenzie have been great! She is patient, thorough and compassionate. I didn't feel rushed, and I felt valued as a patient. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. McKenzie, she did not go to a very good medical school, but is a fair doctor, her primary problem is working for Memorial. Memorial Healthcare offices like this one are designed to make money and nothing more. Memorial GP offices have a lot of policies in place that encourages the lower cost GP's like her to refer their patients to the more expensive specialists, not to mention the specialists can prescribe the higher cost test procedures, which make more for Memorial. She does a fair job, but is less concerned with helping people and more concerned with following Memorial's money-first policies.

Dr. McKenzie was very thorough in understanding my medical history, lifestyle, physical and mental health. I appreciate her easy manner and willingness to answer any question completely.

Excellent GP. I’ve been a patient for many years. Dr. McKenzie has provided exceptional fare for a myriad of health concerns, and routes me to the right next step when dealing with more chronic issues or injuries to make sure I’m feeling good.

It is like pulling teeth to get my meds renewed. Constant follow up phone calls because my pharmacy cancels meds due to inability to contact this doctor. It makes my high blood pressure go up!

I have recommended Dr McKenzie to my neighbor and she loved her and her practical approach to medicine. Definitely not a pill pusher. She will look at your total lifestyle before recommending anything. Both my husband and I have been patients for 3 years.

Always pleasant staff. Dr. McKenzie takes the time to understand the entirety of my many conditions and collaborates with my various specialists to coordinate treatment so there's no over medication or conflict.

Dr. McKenzie is a great partner for someone who wants to have a healthy lifestyle and have the required screening procedures depending on age. I'm very glad I found her. She is very supportive of dietary and lifestyle changes to prevent disease and improve existing conditions.

I’m so thankful to have found such a great doctor. If you want a common sense approach to your physical and mental well being she is your gal.

Dr McKenzie was more focused on the amount of time allotted than meeting my medical needs. After this year’s blood work, I got a call from her assistant saying I needed to be on a statin, sending a Rx to my local pharmacy, not giving me an appt. to discuss her recommendations. She did not note that my triglycerides number dropped a 126 points from a year before and only slightly high. LDL was not elevated. Total cholesterol was only 208. My age or possible side effects were not considered.

One of the BEST! She is smart, compassionate and knows what she is doing. She does not waste time she gets to the cause of the matter. I'm blessed to call her DR.

Absolutely awful experience. If you ever go to Dr. McKenzie make sure you schedule two blocks of time because even if you want to discuss real concerns, if your fifteen minutes are up they’re up. During my appointment, the Medical Assistant interrupted the appointment to pull Dr. McKenzie out. The whole time I assumed she would come back because we could hear her in the hall and the room next door. To my surprise the Medical Assistant comes back in tells me my time is up and hands me a script!

She failed to diagnosed what I had. She is very rude and short when speaking with her. She cause me to have surgery when all she had to do was know what she was doing ! She failed big time. Please beware if you feel like you are not getting the answer you want GET a second Opinion .

Mary McKenzie is a capable and caring doctor. I appreciate her.
