Dr. Mary Hyde, MD

Dr. Hyde created a communication barrier between my underage daughter and I. From the beginning, she would tell my daughter not to look at me as she asked her questions and even explicitly asked her about birth control options, which we were not there for. Again, she told her not to look my way. My daughter was seeking support from me and Dr. Hyde created an uncomfortable situation. Upon leaving, my daughter expressed that she would not like to go back to that doctor. If an underage patient seeks parental support, while the parent is literally in the room, the doctor should not force the patient to not look at their parent. I did not want to make a situation more uncomfortable for my daughter, so I did not address the issue at that moment. I left feeling uncertain, but upon speaking to several professional colleagues and a few doctors, I do come to realize this situation was not proper.

There are so many other OBGYN physicians available in the Corpus Christi area. I liked her at first, but when I would ask concerning questions, they were answered with sarcasm. That is completely unacceptable when dealing with patients.

I overheard this Dr be unprofessional by stating to a patient what birth control are you going to be on as soon as baby Is born???Isn't she a Ob gyn Dr for pregnant women,they are having a hard time with new things happening to one's self and body .Dignity and respect should come first and caring ,consideration also ask patient what's on their mind any questions.She treats women that are on medicaid a while lot different and prejudice .If your tired Dr then retire,abd Yiu are there to help nurture and educate patients not give them stress abd cause anguish.The poor gal went crying after she left dr Mary Joy Hydes office.Not professional be more positive Ms. HYDE

Unprofessional attitude and uncaring bedside manner. I was actually embarrassed for her. No patient should be treated that way by a doctor.

I love Dr. Hyde she is very attentive to my needs and her bedside manners are awesome. I love that she answers all my questions without beating around the bush.

Dr. Hyde has been our family ob/gyn for many years and there is no other physician I trust more with my daughters and now my granddaughter. Dr. Hyde is a very thorough and experienced physician in addition to being a compassionate and kind person. She has taken care of my daughters as if they were hers, guided me through menopause, and cried with our family in joy when our granddaughter was safely delivered into her capable and loving hands. We have been very blessed to have Dr. Hyde.

Terribly rude staff and uncaring doctor. Please find a doctor with better bedside manner.

I am new to the area and had been experiencing some painful symptoms. I waited two weeks to see Dr. Hyde and got a bit confused in the hospital complex. I arrived 14 minutes late with my infant son and apologized for my tardiness. I was asked to fill out all of my paperwork only to be told the doctor would not take me. The policy is to deny appointments if a person is 15 min. late, but I was told the doctor was too busy for me. No one offered to reschedule me in spite of my explaining my pain.

I have a nursing background which assisted me in selecting Dr Hyde. She is not only highly qualified but takes the time to answer all my questions and explains options in detail. I am so thankful to have found her as my doctor. I like the fact that she is assertive with my health and doesn't take the wait and see approach. We are lucky to have her in our community. Believe me not all doctors are the same.

Dr. Hyde is absolutely wonderful. She truly cares about her patients. Even her nurses make you feel like family (they are wonderful as well). It's VERY obvious how much they care in that office. The wait is usually brief but I have never felt rushed in and out. Dr. Hyde takes the time to listen, explain things, and she is very easy to talk to. I 100% recommend her to everyone.

Dr. Hyde knows the meaning of patient-centered care. She is caring, compassionate, understanding and clearly explains procedures, issues, and risks. I would highly recommend her.

She is so nice and so is her staff. My visit was wonderful. She is patient, listens, makes you feel right at home.

Dr. Hyde is an excellent Gynecologist. Her receptionist is rude and has hung up on me several times. I've called back and protested her rudeness only to be hung up on again! Really difficult to talk to the Doctor or her nurse when you can't get past the receptionist and apparently she doesn't pass on your message to the nurse either!
