Dr. Mary Hawkins, MD

My daughter has seen Dr Hawkins for 13 years. She has been a fabulous physician for us. My daughter is adopted and has ADHD and anxiety and Dr Hawkins has been supportive of us and helped us through this diagnosis and we could not have made such great progress without her. I trust her judgment immensely. She is a great communicator with my daughter and my daughter trusts her as well. We are sad to be 18 and aging out of pediatric care. The next doctor will have big shoes to fill.

We met with Dr. Hawkins bc we moved here recently. She started our appointment by stepping out to take a personal call. She did not ask us if that was okay, but told us. She talked so fast we could hardly understand what she was saying half the time. When she would ask my husband and me a question she would not wait for our response. She ended her questions with an “okay?” and immediately answered herself with “okay, great!” We could hardly get a word in. She was also critical of us and our baby (who’s perfectly healthy). We cloth diaper and she made us feel poorly about that and recommended regular diapers. She also said our baby had eczema (he doesn’t). And that we needed to supplement breastfeeding with vitamin d drops. Our previous pediatrician who we loved dearly never said one word about any of that. We felt like she was very judgmental, rude and not supportive whatsoever. She should empower parents, not belittle them. This was 4 mos. ago and I still feel the same. Just terrible.

We absolutely LOVE Dr. Hawkins. We found her after after 6 months of non stop Dr. appointments and antibiotics for my youngest. After seeing her and telling her what was wrong we figured out what was going on and she hasn't had any trouble since. Now we drive 1 1/2 hours and both of my daughters see her.

This doctor is very unethical. Be very careful!

My daughter absolutely loves dr. Hawkins. She is always so informative and personable. We love her staff as well her nurse is amazing!

Dr. Hawkins is amazing!!! I love her. She is super with my child and explains things in layman terms not the medical terms. She is very honest and does not panic the parents. She is also extremely good at preparing you for what happens in your childs next year of development and what to expect. And she has the best nurses, Shawnte' is the best!!!
