Dr. Mary Defigard, MD

She spends alot of time with me!!!

I have been going to Dr.DeFigard for approximately 44 years. ( except for 12 years in the central coast) I knew her when I worked at Good Sam and she was recommended by an RN I worked with. She always sends me to the best specialist when I need and the time she takes with each patient is unheard in medical practices now. I think the world of her and appreciate the devotion and compassion for her patients and to medicine . I highly recommend Dr. Zimmer too ,my interactions with him are always thoughtful and he explains things thoroughly.

Dr. DeFigard has been my primary physician for 13 years, and I have never had a better, more compassionate, more thorough doctor. I have several chronic illnesses, and have required hospitalization more times than I can count, but she never makes me feel like I am taking too much of her time or patience. No matter how many hours she has put in on any given day, she always returns phone calls, even if it is during the evening hours. The same is true when I am hospitalized, often coming in to see me late at night when I’m sure she’s exhausted and would rather be home enjoying a late dinner! Although the wait times may be longer than some doctors’ offices, it is well worth the wait because she spends as much time as necessary to answer all questions and concerns, and NEVER watches the clock as though she’s trying to keep your visit under the standard 15-minute visit that so many doctors do.

Dr. DeFigard is amazing! I’m a new patient and she blows all other doctors out of the water. She makes hospital visits at midnight, came into a skilled nursing home in the evening snd staff at the nursing home said doctors from the outside NEVER come in. She calls back after I emailed a complaint after hours, her staff called her to pass my message at how upset I was and she called me at 9pm and spent 30 minutes. She handled my inquiry and picked up where my oncologist dropped the ball. I love her and wish I found her years ago!

She has been my primary care doctor for over 40 years. Not only am I pleased with her but every medical professional I come in contact with respects her.
