Definitely not
I saw dr Wallace in 2008-2011 and all he did was prescribe me 20 plus different pain meds and didn’t actually help the root cause of the pain. Found out this year (2025) that had he ordered an proper MRI instead of giving me narcotics, he would have seen a fracture in my lower spine that was the cause of the pain, since it improperly healed after an accident in 2007. So dr Wallace either didn’t care about treating the pain to get me long term relief and never actually looked at my X-rays (where you could see the fracture as well), or knew what he was doing, and just wanted to get a patient hooked on opiates. Either way, it shouldn’t have taken 18 years to find out why I have the pain I do, when I was in his office every week for pain injections, since he “couldn’t find the source of the pain.”

I had poor experience with this physician. After determining that he could not treat my pain issues with pepper patches and THC, he abandoned me. He did not follow up with advice or referrals to other physicians, even though he said he would speak with one of his UCSD colleagues, and he refused to answer my questions on the patient portal. We deserve better

I think he is a decent doctor, but he could try to spend more time with each patient. I do not recommend him to anyone because of his office location, not because of anything wrong with him as a physician. Because his office is located in what is technically a "hospital", your insurance will not cover office visits to him as regular office visits, despite that being exactly what they are. This means you will be charged hundreds of dollars for every office visit, not whatever your agreed upon co-pay is. For this reason, no one should go here. If you were undergoing a procedure during a visit, that would be reasonable, but for me, I sat in an office chair and had a 5 minute conversation in a regular office room and was charged $400 for this instead of my usual $25 co-pay. I would have never gone here had I known this information in advance. Do not go here until you find out what you will be charged. I am a medical provider myself and I find this situation to be completely unreasonable.

The guy is not nice and DOES NOT Care about you or your health... He actually told me this. He shouldn't be working as a pain doctor or any type of doctor. The 5 stars are made up because if you look at ever 1-star review they say the same thing. He is not nice, will not listen and if you question him he acts like a belligerent 12-year-old and walks off while you are talking. Stay away from this guy.

I'll tell you this much the reviews with 5 stars are probably by the staff because he is not a 5 star person I would say maybe a 1/2 a star the guy is the most inconsiderate rude person I've ever met doesn't care about his patients and will run away when you Ask him a question or he'll get belligerent

Many years ago I somehow ended up seeing Dr. Wallace, having endured years of severe left leg pain originating in my low back. I had tried various modalities and seen a number of doctors for the severe pain. Dr. Wallace did a nerve root injection under fluoroscopy. The next day I had no pain, hiked 4 miles, and have been pain-free ever since, except for one short set-back about five years ago. Dr. Wallace essentially cured me. He's not the warmest guy around, but he knows his stuff.
