Dr. Mark Straka, DDS

I was in an accident 3 years ago. Right before Covid. I broke my arm in three places (had emergency surgery), broke my sinus cavity, broke by front right, completely healthy tooth, cut in half both ways. It was basically dangling, but obviously other things were more important. After discharged from hospital, they made me an appt at an oral surgeon to remove the tooth. This guy gave me a shot of novacaine and started pulling IMMEDIATELY. I was like, I CAN FEEL EVERYTHING. I’m no dental expert but should you let that sit for a bit?? He said, and I quote “I’m doing this as a favor. If you wanted a real appt, you wouldve had to wait a few weeks” and proceeds to start pulling. I have had two kids, almost 10 lbs with no drugs. I’m not a lightweight. I was full on crying. Tears and blood running down my face. They threw gauze at me and I left the room. The secretary had the audacity to ask me when I’d like my follow up. I said I would NEVER step foot in that office again.

Dr Mark Straka is first of all a wonderful and caring person with a droll sense of humor and impeccable professional credentials. My dental work consisted of teeth removal, prepping for implants, and implants. He laid out a plan for several teeth that was interrupted by the Covid with many postponements, but he patiently persevered in ongoing rescheduling. The cost was very reasonable and allowed for Dental Dental insurance coverage. Dr Straka is an anesthesiologist and can accommodate several types of locals as well as complete sedation. I opted for the latter and it was over and done quickly and relatively painlessly. His office is at Riverside Methodist and has access to the full range of services there if needed. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and runs a well organized no waiting office. There is also a full time work up specialist that creates a financial plan with many options and payment types to fit your budget and insurance plan. Dr Mark Straka is your best choice

wife was a new patient and we told them we had Metlife. She needed a cone beam scan and we were told our portion would be $198. A month later we get another bill for $198. When I inquired they said my insurance did not pay them what they thought and we owed more. They did not seem to care that we were going to have over $9000 worth of work done that we are now going to give to another dentist. I wonder if Dr Straka knows his office lost this due to giving out a wrong quote and then not waving $198 to keep our business.

Dr. Straka and his staff were amazing. Wait times were short, and the staff was friendly and easy to work with. Dr. Straka took the time to discuss the procedure with me and I did not feel rushed at all. I had four teeth extracted and was expecting to be in pain after the local anesthetic wore off. Instead, there was no pain at the surgery sites at all! I would definitely recommend his practice to anyone needing an oral surgery consult.

Dr. Straka is awesome! His office was clean, staff was nice, he was very polite and made me feel very comfortable! I would recommend him to anyone needing oral surgery!
