Years ago in 1998, I took a chance on Dr. Kimmins. I had just found out I had colon cancer. I was given a 50/50 chance of survival. About a week before I was given custody of my 8-month-old grandson. I decided to take a chance on this young doctor because I felt that he would take a chance. I needed a miracle because of my grandson. He needed me. My grandson will soon be 21 and I have not felt healthier. I often think of him and I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude. I remember a moment after surgery when he was doing his rounds and he looked tired. I mentioned that to him and offered him to sit down. I could sense his sadness and asked him why? He has told me that he had just lost a young patient. I said to him why her and not me. His answer was "your job is not done yet"I have always remembered this and kept it in my heart. I was 49 years old at the time of my surgery and I will be 69 years old next month. I continue to pray for him and feel so blessed to have had him as my doctor
