Uninformed rush
I was 3 weeks postpartum with 2 thrombosed hemorrhoids. I was told that they could “take of them” and I’d be “better by the weekend.” The procedure was extremely painful and basically traumatic, and as I was crying and having a very hard time, I wasn’t offered a tissue or any real help. I was in agony and I got a pat on the shoulder and advice to get home and take some pain meds. I was not functional for 2 whole days and minimally functional for a week. 3 weeks out and I’m still in pain, but it’s manageable. I really wish I had just dealt with the hemorrhoids. Luckily my husband was able to take off and my family helped with my newborn and 2 other kids. I feel like the pros and cons were not adequately reviewed with me and I was not fully informed on the procedure beforehand. THEN, I waited an hour before I had to remind him I was there just to be seen for the 2 minute follow up. The staff apologized for the wait, but not a word from Dr. Jessen. I honestly felt like a number to him.

review of Mark Jessen, M.D.
excellent service, even of he remarked to his nurses, "remind me to never again operate on a person with polycythemia." He did a great job in his herniorraphy on my left inguinal hernia using mesh.
