I feel like I could talk to Dr. Jennings like I can talk to my brother. Very easy going, relatable. He explained what I should expect and what I should or shouldn't do.

Dr. Jennings examined me and then we talked about my upcoming neck surgery I have to have. He went over hernia risks, what could happen amd what to watch out for. He will be correcting my hernia by surgery once I am cleared for surgery after my neck heals. He was fantastic at explaining things to me, and to listening to me and my questions.

stomach blockage
My sister had a blockage from her stomach to intestines and was losing weight fast because she was throwing everything up, down to 100 pounds. We were all hopeful surgery would cure her problem. After surgery we almost lost her a couple times. Infection from the surgery caused a second surgery. She walked into the hospital. After 32 days in the hospital they forced her to be moved even though she cannot eat, communicate fully, has diarrhea and been sat in a chair maybe twice and has a feeding tube and catheter. On day 28 the emergency response team had to be called. Yet he thinks she is ready to leave the hospital so they took out the drain tube that was draining the infection. We are not even sure the infection is gone. We are very very disappointed with surgeon and with Mercy Health West. And his prognosis for the future was not very encouraging.

Competent, Caring and Communicative
I went to the ER on February 9 because of extreme pain from gallbladder. He performed laparoscopic gall bladder surgery on February 14. Before the surgery, he visited twice while I was dealing with pancreatitis. He explained what was going on with the inflamed pancreas and why the gallbladder should be removed. After the surgery, he spoke with my wife about recovery and took the time to answer her questions. I never felt rushed or dismissed by him. I would highly recommend him.

He saved me
Dr. Jennings was the only doctor / surgeon who took me seriously when I was seriously Ill with a bad gallbladder. My scans kept coming back “normal” but I was getting sicker and sicker. He explained how tricky the GB is and removed it for me the next day. I had never felt so sick in my life, and he truly saved me. My gallbladder was chronically inflamed, and twisted. No clue how that wouldn’t show up on a scan, but thank goodness for him because I really felt like I was going to just never get better. Thank you for believing me, and taking my word when I knew something was wrong. You’ll be in great hands with Dr. Jennings- thank you, endlessly.

Excellent provider- very down to earth and caring. Had to have fairly quick surgerybfollowing admission from ED. Dr Jennings explained things thoroughly and took time to be sure that surgery was the best path to take. I liked that he didn't just jump to surgery as then "fix" but seemed to weight the decision thoroughly. Incredibly nice and very approachable. I felt safe in his care ! Thank you Forbes a great outcome.

In addition to getting in quickly to see him when I needed an appointment and not having to wait long at all in his office, I feel like Dr Jennings really cares. He wasn't glued to his computer when talking with me like some doctors are. He was very down to earth and seemed like a genuinely caring and knowledgeable doctor. He explained everything thoroughly, and I left his office feeling very informed and hopeful.
