For my doctor
From the start Dr. Henry did everything to make sure my finger will go back to normal and after completing a successful surgery and therapy I have finally able to get full motion on my finger and back to being normal. Thank you Dr.Henry for all your help.

Pushed for Unnecessary Surgery
I was aggressively diagnosed by Dr Henry to succumb to unnecessary surgeries. Dr Henry diagnosed an early infection of the tendon sheath of my right thumb. He aggressively pushed a series of 3 surgeries. First 2 for opening, cleaning and debridement, the third surgery to close, over 5-6 days. All 3 would require going under anesthesia. When asked if there was an alternative to surgery, I was told I was not in a position to question him. He then proceeded to use scare tactics by telling me that I would lose my thumb like a woman who did not undergo the 3 surgeries and had to have her index finger removed. He graphically described her dead, withering finger and said I had a 99% chance of it happening to me. I walked out and got a 2nd opinion. The new doctor prescribed 2 antibiotics, 1 to treat staphylococcus , and 1 for streptococcus. After 10 days on antibiotics, my thumb is completely healed. No surgery, no huge medical bills, no weeks of healing, no rehab. Get a 2nd opinion!

Dupuytren's Contracture Surgery
Dr. Henry and his entire staff were courteous and professional from the first time I stepped into his office. He was prompt and professional. He analyzed my Dupuytren's and gave me treatment and or surgery options. He explained my individual situation thoroughly and made me feel confident about his suggestions. Post surgery Dr. Henry's follow-up to monitor the healing progress was outstanding. I now have a hand and fingers that I can actually use. Very happy with Dr. Henry.

Concerned about lack of empathy and results
Surgeries: Carpal tunnel in both hands, ulna tunnel left elbow, trigger finger release both hands and a cyst removed in right palm. Very disappointed in Dr Henry’s lack of trust in my ability and willingness to follow post op therapy exercises and his lack of empathy. Didn’t seem to believe I was following instructions despite additional PT sessions, and he actually caused a lot of abrupt pain to my hands during one visit. After 4 months since surgery, I still have quite a lot of stiffness in both hands and fingers, swelling, pain, numbness. and I am unable to make fists or grip without doing exercises, stretching, and pain. At final visit, Dr Henry curtly pronounced me “decompressed!” Total lack of concern or empathy!

Tendon repair
Telehealth
Dr Henry did an awesome job repaying my severed tendon. He listened closely to my needs as a lifelong guitarist and I am back to playing with no complications. I highly recommend this facility to any one who needs hand/wrist surgery. I might add that the staff and Doctor were very pleasant as well.

This is a five star plus Dr.
the most important thing to me was how kind and curious everyone was to me. The next was how fast things had been tanking care of and explained to me as we went along. The doctor truly cares about his patients by taking the time to make sure that they really understand what is going on and what needs to happen to fully recover unlike some others.

Top shelf knowledge, experience, & service
Dr. Henry's office is efficient, staff are courteous and attentive, and quality of care is some of the best I have incurred. Dr. Henry was enthusiastic about explaining about injury and healing, and his experience was apparent in his knowledge of subject matter and foreseeing probable healing progress. If you need hands or fingers repaired, come to Dr. Henry... period.

Treatment of broken hand.
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Henry after breaking a bone in my right hand. The break required surgery to properly set the bone. Dr. Henry and his staff provided excellent care from surgery through the healing process. He took the time to explain, in a very detailed manner, what would be required for a successful recovery. Everyone in his office who i saw during my recovery was professional and caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Henry and the staff at the Hand & Wrist Center Of Houston.

Inhumane doctor if you ask me
Ended with pain even after the surgery. He claimed the pain was all in my head and that I just needed to learn how to manage it. Worst experience was when one time I had the cast removed because he needed to take X-rays. Because the prosthetic had shifted, once they added a fresh cast back on, he grabbed the cast with both hands and twisted in an attempt to shift the prosthetic back into place. Not only did that not do anything but if anyone knows about how your bones are after being in a cast is they’re as stiff as a board. Forcing to twist it was inhumane and I can’t imagine it being ethical. I had to be held down from the pain that took place. His bedside manner like others have voiced is awful. I don’t question his knowledge but saying the pain is in my head is such a cop out for not taking responsibility for a failed surgery. His receptionist also leaves much to be desired. There are plenty of other good doctors in Houston. Never going back and would not recommend him to anyone.

Good surgeon but not very likeable.
Dr. Henry is a smart guy and I was satisfied with the results of my (fairly simple) surgery. His bedside manner, however, is poor. He is always late, he rushes appointments, he doesn't listen, and he doesn't communicate as well as he thinks he does. He also shows absolutely no compassion for others. I have several good friends who are surgeons and I understand the need for a "healthy ego" in order to be successful. That, however, does not excuse rude and harassing behavior, which is what I experienced from Dr. Henry.
