Dr. Mark Garrison, DO

Dr. Garrison is truly one of the best doctors I’ve had. He takes his time during appointments, making sure to explain everything from start to finish in a way that’s easy to understand. He never rushes through a visit and always makes sure all my questions are answered. What I appreciate most is that he presents multiple treatment options, giving me the chance to make informed decisions about my care. He genuinely listens and makes me feel like my concerns are heard. If you’re looking for a doctor who is thorough, patient, and truly cares, I highly recommend him!

Dr Garrison is the most caring compassionate doctor and person I have met in a long time. I am often written off by doctors due to my weight. He actually listened to me and had the needed tests performed and got to the bottom of my problem. He also diagnosed a topical skin condition I had been dealing with for years which all other doctors I've seen had basically told me was my problem. He is the best and I can not recommend him highly enough.

I found Dr. Garrison to be truly kind, sincere, and extremely thorough! I underwent several tests, then he referred me to an oncologist. During this entire time, Dr. Garrison was very compassionate, and empathetic of my fears. Surgery day finally arrived, and when I was in the operating room, Dr. Garrison held my hand and said, “close your eyes and describe to me your favorite place (which is a Fall day in Vermont), he asked, “what do you see, how does the wind feel on your face, what colors do you see, how do the leaves crunching beneath your feet feel and sound?” His technique of taking me into a state of mindfulness right before high-risk surgery was brilliant on his part, and it was exactly what I needed to calm my mind and body. The surgery was a tremendous success and when I woke up, Dr. Garrison was right by my bed assuring me that there was no cancer. In sum, Dr. Garrison is not only an exceptional surgeon he is also an amazing human!!

By the time I was finally referred to Dr. Garrison, I had jumped through so many hoops. He sat with me while I sobbed, he listened to me intently as I described all of what I had been enduring. I finally felt seen, heard and validated. He explained every detail in great depth, left no question unanswered. The level of compassion and care I received was like no other. He was attentive, thorough, respectful, generous with his time. He didn’t rush through the appointment. I finally had hope for the first time in years. The morning of surgery, Dr. Garrison held my hands and talked to me and calmed me until I fell asleep. Right before I drifted off I mouthed. “Thank you.” as a tear hung back in the corner of my eye. I will forever be grateful and thankful to Dr. Garrison. I’m so blessed that’s he was part of my wellness journey. He is an absolute treasure to the medical filled and I’m so glad I found him. I can never thank him enough for giving me my life back. Thank you!

I had finally went to have a pap done after a decade of not taking care of myself in that way. Dr. Harrison told me at my first appointment with him that I’d be going through a procedure he was doing. I was so scared and my anxiety was SO high. The day of my procedure, I was in my waiting room at the hospital. Dr. Garrison came in to talk to me right before I go under anesthesia, he was so kind and compassionate to me. When the nurse came to wheel me back to the OR while being put under Dr. Garrison stood on my bedside and held my hands and made me feel such and ease, he made me feel so safe as I was extremely scared. He let me know he was going to take the very best care of me, he let me know I was going to be ok. I can’t put into words exactly how he made me feel because I’ve never had any health care make me feel such at ease. I’m truly blessed to have Dr. Garrison as my gynecologist, I’m so extremely grateful for him. I’m so thankful for him. He’s a true blessing to me.

I typically wouldn't take the time to write a review, but the exceptional experience my wife had under the care of Dr. Garrison compelled me to share our story. From the moment we walked into his office, my wife and I felt an immense sense of trust and comfort.As a husband, one can't help but feel anxious and protective when your spouse is facing surgery. The thought of her in the hands of a surgeon, even a specialist like a gynecologist, can be nerve-wracking. Dr. Garrison, however, was nothing short of outstanding. His professionalism combined with genuine empathy provided the reassurance we needed.From the first consultation, he took his time to explain every aspect of the procedure, answering all our questions, no matter how minute. His attention to detail and thoroughness was evident not only in his explanations but also in the surgery and post-operative care. He prioritized my wife's comfort and well-being, and it was evident that she wasn’t just another patient

Out of nowhere, I was developing a list of health issues. I went to 8 different doctors over 2 years desperately looking for a diagnosis. He came recommended by a colleague. He SAVED my life. I was near death and he took the time to listen, run tests, talk with me not at me, explaining all things in terms I can understand with the best bedside manner. After moving 10 hours south away from Chico I still happily take the drive back for my care.

I hadn't been to a gyno for 15 years and had been bleeding for weeks that turned into months. I get very nervous going to doctors. Turned out I had many fibroids and needed a total hysterectomy. Dr. Garrison did such a good job educating me about my health issues and answered every single question I had. I ended up having Davinci robotic surgery. I have done so well healing. I didn't need any narcotics afterwards. This procedure is amazing. Dr. Garrison has been very caring and informative throughout the process.

I saw Dr. Garrison for possible endometriosis and other complications with my period. During my first appointment, he was very nice and understanding. He later performed surgery and it went well. During my post-op appointment, he went over a biopsy with me (which ended up being someone else's) which didn't match my condition. I told him again that I wasn't sexually active, so the results didn't make sense. Instead of questioning why the results didn't match my situation he went on a tangent saying that I was flat out lying, suggesting/asking possible ways I could have contracted those specific results, then telling my mom (I was 18 at the time and invited my mom back with me) I was keeping secrets from her. I felt horrible and violated. He lost all my trust. I am never going back.

Dr. Garrison was amazing. I had a total robotic hysterectomy and I was very scared and nervous and he went above and beyond. He made me feel comfortable about getting the surgery and explained everything before and made sure I understood everything. I usually get very nauseous and sick after anesthesia and he did everything to prevent that and after the surgery I was not nauseous at all. He did go above and beyond and I really appreciate him and everything he has done for me. I would highly recommend him to everyone. His staff also went above and beyond. They all were so nice and helpful. I am very thankful to Dr. Garrison and I am very blessed to have had him take care of my surgery and recovery. Thank you again Dr Garrison you are truly amazing !

Dr. Garrison is the most outstanding physician I have ever seen! Brilliant; empathetic; communicative; and all around excellent human being. He loves his work and is dedicated to his patients.

Dr. Garrison was referred to me by a NP at Amola Health. She said, " I think you'll like him". And so I do. Dr Garrison was completely focused on me and my case, gave me individualized one-on-one attention and brought me to tears with his compassion and understanding. I cannot recommend him highly enough, and I always went to women only.

I found Dr. Garrison after being referred to him. I have had an on-going issue and really needed a professional second opinion. I can honestly say that Dr. Garrison is one of the most kindest, sensitive and understanding of any OBGYN, I have had in quite a long time. He spent so much time listening and talking to me about my history and issues. At my appointment I felt like a "priority" He listened-REALLY listened. He came up with a plan and provided me with in-sight and resources. In the past other providers had written the issue off as related to something else and basically that I would have to live with it. NOT, Dr. Garrison. I did not feel like a number but, a person with a problem. And Dr. Garrison would be there to help me with a resolution. After having this issue for so long, this was such a relief. I would refer him to anyone that asked. He is the Best and to me the epitome of what a medical professional should be. I have been seeing Dr Garrison since October of 2017. And he performed a Total hysterectomy in December of 2017, one of the most trying times in my life! But I felt that my care was in the best hands possible and not only did I feel like he was an expert and professional but he also informed, educated and shared information with me every step of the way. I never felt that he was rushed or had somewhere else to be. He checked on me numerous times during my stay in hospital and left his cell for emergencies. I would recommend him and his nurses over and over again!

Every thing is good

I recently had a full Hysterectomy (robotic surgery) by Dr. Garrison and I was nervous at first but Dr. Garrison is compassionate and explains everything in detail and makes you feel comfortable. With the robotic surgery I had some pain of course by never used any pain medication. The surgery was the best thing I could have done. I highly recommend Dr. Garrison

By far the best Doctor I have ever been to. Dr. Garrison makes you feel comfortable and explains everything so that you feel well informed and do not leave his office confused. He is very knowledgeable and positive, and I HIGHLY recommend him! He has literally changed my life!

There are not enough stars to give Dr Garrison! I am a labor and delivery nurse, and I was referred to him for a hysterectomy. I have never had surgery let alone robotic surgery I was very stressed out about the whole process but then I met Dr Garrison and he put all of my fears at ease, he takes his time explaining everything and answering any questions. It is very apparent that he cares greatly about women’s health! He is a top notch surgeon and I highly recommend him and so do all the surgical nurses at the hospital.

I am the veteran of 10 surgeries (mostly orthopedic; none gynecological) and I cannot emphasize enough how remarkable my experience with Dr Garrison has been. I had a complete hysterectomy (including removal of large calcified fibroids and a large ovarian cyst) via robotics. I was home the same day and never needed a pain pill. He explains things well, listens carefully, relates questions I asked to what he observed in my body ... what more can you ask for in a surgeon? How about someone who distracts you from the discomfort of an endometrial biopsy by chatting about French pronunciation? Or someone who holds your hand and encourages you to think about pleasant things as you are "going under" for surgery? His visit notes are testimonies to his comprehensive absorption of information. I would recommend him highly to anyone who needs gynecological surgery. Compassion, humor, and expertise packaged in one great surgeon.
