Waste of time and money
It was a horrible experience. I was there at 8:00 and had to wait 50 minutes before seeing the doctor. He spent 2 minutes with me offering no ideas as to what was possibly wrong or what I could do to alleviate the pain. I expected more information from a doctor who claims to be a hand specialist, and certainly a lot more consideration and respect for what I paid in time and money. I do NOT recommend this office at all.

Surgery scheduling department never responds.
I saw Dr Elzik in August and he was going to schedule surgery. I've had 3 surgeries with him before. 3 weeks go by and I hear nothing. I call the scheduler and get no replies back. I contacted the scheduler 4 times with no return calls. Last week I call him and he returns my call and says hell get back with me. A week goes by and I hear nothing. I called today and he called back and he just disappeared after of minutes I hung up and he never called back. This is beyond horrible after 8 weeks still nothing.

Hand
Dr. Elzik did an amazing job. Was very nervous about my hand procedure but he reassured me that I would be happy with the outcome. He was 100% correct couldn’t be more happy. Very professional and precise. Thank you!

Playing Guitar again
After 9 months of a doctor telling my husband there's nothing he could do about the arthritis in his left ring finger, David found Dr. Elzik. While searching on YouTube he came across a video of knuckle replacement surgery by Dr. Mark Elzik. Given new hope, David looked up the doctor. What are the chances this doctor would be in our part of the country…he was in Mission Viejo, about 30 minutes away from us! Okay, but what are the chances he is in our insurance network…YES, he was! Immediately, we contacted our primary care doctor for a referral. Within a week of finding Dr. Elzik on YouTube, we were in his office. After taking some X-rays, Dr. Elzik confirmed knuckle replacement surgery would take care of David’s pain and that he would have full use of his hand/finger after rehabilitation. One week later, in the middle of November 2022, David had the surgery. Six months later David is shredding guitar with his cover band, The Voodoo Funk! Thank you Dr. Elzik!

Excellent
Visited for wrist pain and finger numbness. New patient. Excelent. Quickly diagnosed, thoroughly explained to me, and advised of next steps should I want them. Very prompt and professional. Also, rarely you get to see a doc on duty dressed in a suit and tie. Shows respect for patients and coworkers.

I am a Neurosurgeon at Mission Hospital, Hoag, Hoag Orthopedic Institute, and Saddleback Memorial, so when my dad broke his wrist I naturally reached out to numerous colleagues to find the very best. Dr. Elzik was recommended to me by a multitude of primary care and specialty orthopedic surgeons, so I can at least attest to his excellent reputation in Orange County among physicians which is probably the highest validation of reputation possible. My dad was under Dr. Elzik's care, and he offered both conservative and minimally invasive surgical options. He took a very caring approach and at the same time discussed the technical nuances of his approaches that made it very clear to me that he was a thorough and very technically skilled surgeon. I tell my own patients all the time that you only want to get surgery once, and given that, you want a good surgeon. Dr. Elzik is not only very genuine and caring, he is a surgeon's surgeon with regards to skill. Take it from another surgeon

Dr. Elzik and his staff have been excellent. The entire team, including his office staff (with a special acknowledgement for Deserea, who managed all of my paperwork for work and disability, and Mike, Dr Elzik’s assistant who was so kind and helpful ) and surgical center staff is professional, compassionate, and thorough. I would highly recommend Dr Elzik .

New Year's Eve Dr. Elzik walked into the pre surgical area and told me I had a "devastating injury" to my elbow after an accident. He did not know how the surgery would turn out. After several hours he had to remove a lot of bone fragments, put in pins and screws but my arm was in one piece. After months of therapy, I'm happy to say my arm is almost fully functional. Dr. Elzik wanted to make sure I was able to do my hair and make up and I'm very happy to say I can do that and so much more. Thank you Dr. Elzik for your expert skills that saved the use of my arm. I will forever be grateful.

This has been one of the best offices i have ever visited. The girl at the front desk was nice and as soon as i finished my paper work i waited about 3 minutes and was check in to a room. I was met by another doctor he filled out all of my paper work and issued my written prescription and he said the radiologist would be right in and left as soon as he left i went right into take my xrays all in about 5 minutes. I then saw the doctor scheduled my surgery and left. Surgery was great all the follow was exceptional and for the follow up and to have my stitches removed took less than 15 minutes from the time i parked my truck in the structure and left. This has got to be the most efficient practice that i have been too highly recommend this place i had a wonderful experience.

Dr. Elzik did surgery on me while I was at Mission Hospital and then I saw him for follow-up once I was released. He made time for me when I had a concern and it was not my scheduled appointment time. Very professional but also had compassion which is a unique quality in a doctor.

Dr. Elzik recently preformed trigger thumb surgery on my right thumb, after an initial conservative approach with injections to the affected thumb joint. He explains procedures well before performing them and has a very easy and caring bedside manner. The surgery went very well, without any complications, and I have full use of my thumb again. I was impressed with his surgical skill and follow up. I would not hesitate to see Dr. Elzik again if I had another hand injury and have already recommended him to a co-worker.

Amazing and wonderful are the words to describe this doctor. Broke my arm at the elbow. He operated and everything came out the best possible. How can you beat best possible solution given the conditions? I give him and his staff the highest possible recommendation in response. I was lucky to have found the best possible surgeon given my injury. You wont be disappointed with this Doctor. 5 stars. R.Sanders

I cannot express enough the deep gratitude I hold for Dr Elzik’s care. I have no doubt that it was nothing short of divine intervention that he was on call that he was on call the day that I was taken to Mission’s ER following an accident that left me with a severely broken right arm. His skill in rebuilding my right arm incredible, his ONGOING compassion in the result I was left with, remarkable!!! The PT department in the office has cared for me in the 7 months following my accident so well, I feel just so grateful. Thank you Roger, Maria, Lenny & Brittany. The thought of the countless hours you have spent helping me regain use of my right arm & patience with me brings me to tears. Dr Elzik also routinely stops by PT to check on the progress of his patients. I find this SO remarkable, a surgeons time is pulled in SO many directions & he certainly can’t “Bill” for this time, yet he just repeatedly goes above & beyond to make you as his patient feel that he truly cares.
