Dr. Ellen was very aloof and uninterested in my injury. I suppose maybe because I'm not an athlete. He was very rushed and dismissive of my telling of my pain and got some of my narrative wrong in the record of the visit. He almost missed my hairline fracture because he really wasn't interested and it wasn't until I kept complaining about the pain that he took a second look and was surprised to see the fracture. Then his demeanor changed after I had a "real" injury. I'm requesting a different doctor when I return for follow-ups.

He is at the Orthopaedic Institute in Lake City Fl. I went with my 93 year old Aunt for a shoulder problem. He was rude and could care less about her pain. Besides her shoulder she try to show him her swollen wrist and he said not my thing ask your primary Dr. I said the primary said to ask the Orthopedic Dr, he said not my thing I look at shoulders not wrist. He just spoke about himself and gave her a shot of cortisone. Terrible person to be a doctor. Will never go back.

He was very condescending and rude. He told me several times how he did not care about anything else except for the knee. Was impatient with me when not completely relaxing my leg as he examined it and was rudely stern. I never want to see him again. I will be switching doctors,

Dr. Ellen is a brilliant sports medicine physician with several years of experience. He has an outspoken, no-nonsense personality and will probably figure out what the issue is and how to effectively address it by the first minute of your first encounter. For this very reason he may come across as blunt or rushed. He’s not. He’s just well above your average physician. He’s in fact nicer than he may appear. The first time I saw him he was distributing lollipops to the patients in the waiting room, which I thought was the cutest.
