After waiting for five months to be seen by Dr. Diehl, his office calls me the Friday before the scheduled appointment to tell me that they have cancelled it. The reason given was that Dr. Diehl didn't see a need for me to be seen by him. Five months wasted waiting on this doctor. Five months that I, and my primary doctor could have used to look somewhere else for answers seeing how difficult it is to find a rheumatologist in my area. A complete and total lack of respect and professionalism.

Satisfied
My husband has seen Dr. Diehl three times. Each time he has been attentive and kind. He is not quick to react and push more meds but rather takes his time to listen and understand what the patient wants.

One drug wonder
Didn’t listen to my concerns. Kept pushing a drug that was contraindicated for my atypical symptoms. I switched doctors. I’m SOO glad I did.

I left feeling sorry I ever consulted him. I was treated as if I were stupid. He seemed angry with me for no reason. I will never go to him again. Waste of time & money

Dr. Diehl lacks compassion and has a terrible bedside manner. I was very disappointed with my first appointment with him which of course took several months of waiting for. It’s truly a shame that there are so few Rheumatologists to see in the area.

A very negative experience. Diehl comes across as arrogant and rather snarky. His medical knowledge seems reasonably good - it was a first visit so hard to be sure - but he failed to communicate important information to me, and I had to chase down answers later with his staff. To do it again, I'd go elsewhere.

My first apptmt. was 23 mins: he did listen carefully, and made a diagnosis that seemed appropriate. However, you cannot speak to him between apptmts, all comm. goes through the nurses. Even if you send him a message, reply will come to you from one of the nurses, and he refers to you in the third person. 2nd appt. not til 3 mos after 1st. He does not seem responsive to my concerns as someone with a new, painful, chronic disease. Nurses could be more compassionate. Receptionists are lovely

Didn't like his bed side manner, he can explain things medically like he knows what he's doing but I'm not so sure he does. I like going to a dr that you can say anything to and they listen not look at you like why are you telling me. We'll be trying a different Rheumatology Doc.

Dr. Diehl is an excellent doctor who actually communicates with his patients. He spent 1-1/2 hours on my first appt and followed thru by referring me to pertinent doctors. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Diehl was hard to get in quickly, but luckily there was a cancellation. He was very helpful, and spent 40 minutes with me for a first appointment. He was very compassionate and listened and actually looked at me as I was explaining symptoms. I would highly recommend him.
