Having struggled for decades with treatment resistant depression, bouncing from doctor to doctor, I can say with confidence that you won’t find a more caring, thoughtful, kind, gentle, attentive psychiatrist anywhere. Not only has Dr. Chalem saved my life, he has helped me build a life worth living. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is an unusually lovely man, and I am extraordinarily thankful to him.

he can't see some of the major signs of depression. Thanks to his amazing attention to detail, my father took his own life three days after visiting Dr. Chalem's office even though he was told that my father was suicidal. Great Work Dr. Chalem!!

Hands down the best doctor I've ever had. He's great with talk therapy, trusts what I tell him, doesn't question my knowledge of my own body and experiences, worked with me through several diagnoses, loads of antidepressants, ordered genetic testing and found a gene mutation no other doc did, consulted with my PCP when asked, introduced me to ketamine when all else failed, called me after hours, took me in last minute, admitted when he needed to do more research, and recommended other resources.

Excellent physician and therapist. Very meticulous about notes from each session, which he reviews with patients before each session. Very kind and empathetic. Dr. Chalem has a very broad range of interests and resources from which he draws, and usually has a book or article which he recommend. He is very broadly educated, which is refreshing rarity in our culture that more and more devalues the liberal arts as being less important than the sciences.

Dr Chalem is the kindest, most brilliant, logical, thoughtful, considerate psychiatrist I have ever had. I could not say enough good about him. I would recommend him to ANYONE. Especially people with physical health problems as well as mental health problems. He has never been wrong in my almost 4 years of care. I am still alive because of his commitment to psychiatry and people. Nea M
