Terrible experience
I had an appointment for next week but was called this morning and asked to come in at 1:30 today instead. They finally had an exam room available at 3:00, and placed me #4 in line. I’m already angry at this point when the MA told me that he likes to have baseline X-rays. Since I have a soft tissue injury and the last 2 X-rays have shown nothing, I said I’d like to talk to him first. I was then told that he could not do anything for me at this point since I was refusing care. I clarified that I just wanted to have a conversation to make sure that it was medically necessary, but he was apparently unwilling.

There are a lot of choices out there.
I would recommend you stay away from this practice. I was made to wait 3 hours then had to do xrays even if though I already have them, First seen by the PA who proceeded to shake her leg as if I was waisting her time followed up with the surgeon that spent give or take 2 minutes actually seeing me and made me feel as if if I was being untruthful when explaining how I actually feel. I would not be comfortable putting my life in this Drs. Hands, Remember there are so many other orhtopedic surgeons you could choose from.

This is a great surgeon
First of all please disregard the one star reviews. If you have to wait 3 months for an initial appointment to see a doctor, that should tell you something. Dr. Casillas is the number one recommended foot surgeon by a very special group—other orthopedic doctors. That should tell you something also. I have seen 4 orthopedic surgeons who specialize in the lower leg and foot. Dr Casillias was the 4th. He was the only one who wanted an MRI as well as X-rays to be sure when the Talonavicular joint was fused that other joints did not need attention too. Lo and behold, two other joints needed fused also. Had I gone with any of the first 3 doctors, I would be looking at another surgery on the same foot later.Dr. Casillas does not rush an office appointment and makes sure you understand everything possible about any surgical procedure planned. So, if your main concern is the timeliness of your appointment and not necessarily the highest recommended medical care, there are numerous oth

Dr. Casillas does not keep his word. His recommendation went against accepted medical practice. He does not provide timely treatment. He wastes his patient's time and money. I do not recommend him.

I found Dr Casillas to be an excellent Dr and surgeon along with all his staff. I’ve had several friends whom he has treated as well and we are all back to playing golf with no pain after hardwear removal, ankle replacement surgery and broken ankles. I imagine the reason it takes so long for an appt is that he is in high demand. I would rather wait for an appointment with the very best Dr than settle for second best because I can be seen immediately. He is definitely worth the wait. Just finished second surgery with him and very pleased.

I waited three months for an appt. I waited three hours to see Dr. Casillas. I gave up. Never saw him. I won’t be back. Disrespectful to patients to make them wait so long. If you are running that far behind, re-schedule your patients. I don’t care if he has HANDS OF GOLD FROM GOD. No one should be treated this way. My son is a Harvard physician. It’s absolutely unacceptable the way Dr. Casillas runs his practice.

Though my last appt was 15 years ago, i have to say Dr Casillas is by far the best foot surgeon around. My foot is great. Unfortunately i moved to Florida. Two surgeries later on the other foot and it is not right. Im ready to move back to Texas.

He seem a caring individual and motivated to educate me in what he though would be my best options for my case, I was expecting a typical surgeon that would not explain things to well and would just want to push for surgery but he just gave me a honest assessment, what my options are, and what he would do. He was very clear that I ask as many question that I have.

Great doctor! I came in for a second opinion and received so much attention the difference between a doctor and a great doctor is the care and attention I received. A very delightful staff that goes above and beyond care for the person as a whole.

Had an issue with wait time, but Dr. Casillas is worth waiting for. Caring, listens, allows you the time to express your concerns and never rushes you through an appointment. My Primary Care Dr. says she wouldn’t have anyone else touch her feet. I feel the same. He did however refer me to another physician for a specific issue which allowed for a much less invasive procedure. Very grateful for both of their care.

I drove hours from the Rio Grande Valley for Dr Casillas to fix my very bad ankle, basically a complete reconstruction. Upon my first visit, he told me how he was going to perform the surgery and that’s exactly what he did.. this was 5 years ago and I’m still going strong, walking well! The office personnel were attentive and friendly. I had no problems at all and would definitely recommend him!
