He did a great job on my knee and everything is still perfect 10 years later. Also a warm personality

Dr. Berman did my ACL reconstruction. He placed the new graft in the wrong position, causing severe locking and pain afterwards (literally could not straighten my leg at times). The worst part was that he denied it for months, telling me to do more PT. I finally went to another specialist at HSS in NYC who told me the truth. When I went to get my films from Berman to go to HSS, he first would not allow me to take them and then offered to redo the surgery at no cost - no thx. Beware!!!

He is a doctor who explains things clearly, spends enough time to answer questions, and his staff take care of details and set up procedures very professionally if surgery is necessary. I found his manner to be reassuring and kind, and I appreciated that he showed me the x rays and test results that helped me understand his recommendations. The office is small and you talk to real people, not voice mail when you call.

Dr. Berman is straight forward. He is thorough and good at explaining your ailment. He exhibits his personality if you desire, otherwise he is down to business. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I have been to him for knee, elbow and shoulder problems, including one knee surgery.

He has always taken great care of my mother (2 new hips) and I (2+ surgeries, countless consults). He is cautious, always points us in the right direction if it's not in his wheelhouse and I trust his opinion over all others.

Dr. Berman spent less than 10 minutes with me. He asked me ridiculous questions, why have you been living with all this pain for so long? Although I have sciatica pain and a BONE in my lower back that hurts to the touch he could find nothing wrong with me. He looked at x-rays and MRI's that are 2 years old (before a lot of the pain either developed or got worse). He did not conduct an examination. After 10 minutes he told me to discuss my pain with another doctor. He is a waste of time.
