I was referred to Adelson due to some female issues requiring me to have a full hysterectomy. First of all he only deals through telemed appts. Secondly if you need to speak with him or the office you can only email or use the portal. They asked me ahead of the surgery to get a primary Dr clearance which requires them to send something to my primary but they never did. I tried for two weeks to get a hold of them to send something and they ignored me. I then proceeded to cancel my surgery through email and portal and they suddenly answered confirming my cancellation. I cannot tell if it’s the office staff or the Dr but this is not how you treat patients. Especially patients that have medical issues. For the ppl seeing this Dr they could have life threatening issues. Unacceptable!

Fantastic Surgeon
Telehealth
My wife recently had issues and was referred to Dr. Adelson by another OB - GYN Doctor and within a couple days she had an appointment. Any time we had questions they were answered promptly and he made sure we didn't need anything else at the time. He did anything he could to help my wife feel comfortable. He performed surgery on her and took extra time to make sure everything was done right and top notch. He also helped her avoid future problems and we were all very confident with him through the whole time in his care. We have even talked to other doctors and nurses in our area - we travel to him from a little over an hour away, and anyone that we talk to that knows him or about him reassures us that he is a fantastic Surgeon. We totally agree. My wife received the best care from everyone involved the whole time. We can't thank Dr. Adelson enough. We will definitely recommend him to others. Thank you Dr. Adelson for your expertise.

Would not recommend him to care for another woman.
Visit is only by telemed, does not respond to phone calls, did not tell me about the possible problems following surgery, such as excessive bleeding resulting in 2 ED visits which could have been avoided, He failed to check for a 2nd fibroid, never had face to face contact with my family and discharged me less than an hour after surgery. I would. NEVER recommend him to anyone. He is dangerous... too full of himself, and no thought to the patient.

HORRIBLE
The only reason 1 star has been selected is because it is required, I wish I could leave -5 stars. I am absolutely appalled at Dr. Adelson and his thought process ever since COVID. Dr. Adelson is supposed to be an oncologist and one of the best in the area. Well, he only treats vaccinated patients. Vaccinated meaning the COVID vaccine which is something that I will never get due to all of the adverse side effects. Unbelievable that Mark Adelson is a DOCTOR, took the medial oath and has this bizarre policy. Requesting that patients who are not vaccinated be masked during visits is one thing but not even seeing unvaccinated patients?! But I should have known this would be the case when Adelson and I had a virtual appointment, and he was wearing a mask.

Unprofessional and Unimpressed
I would not recommend Dr. Adelson to anyone in need of surgery, as far as medical training goes, I believe he is a fine doctor. However, after my surgery, I had immediate effects that he refused to acknowledge could have been an effect of his surgery, instead making me stay an extra 48 hours in the hospital giving me only worst-case scenarios. He refused to be upfront about any of my questions or concerns and has absolutely horrendous bedside manner. In addition to that, he never gave me the results of my surgery and told me I could find them online. I am no medical professional or doctor, I think like most people, I would prefer for the doctor to go over my surgery results. Overall, very unimpressed with this whole experience and would not recommend this doctor/hospital to anyone. (That doesn't even include the insane billing debacle I experienced)

Highly Recommend ~ Suitably Impressed
I'm Canadian ~ and I appreciate the US healthcare system. My experiences in the US have been MUCH better than the care received I've received in Canada. Dr Adelson was not rushed in any of our appointments. He was thoughtful, kind and professional in answering all my questions. I think the key as a patient is be prepared with ALL your questions (write them down if you have to). He addressed each and every one of my concerns. Dr Adelson has a nice bedside manner. From the consult, to the pre-op telemed appointment to the surgery day ~ my experience was exceptional. I never felt rushed. My questions were always answered and my surgery (thankfully) was pretty text book with minimal pain afterwards. From start to finish I have zero complaints. There is no way a doctor can predict a final outcome (I worked in healthcare and they are not God), however, I can tell already that he has improved my quality of life greatly. I really valued his expertise and would highly recommend him.

I had 2 telemedicine appointments with the Dr. I seened to go well. The next time I was to see him would have been my surgery. Needless to say surgery had to be cancalled due to other health issuses. I am so glad it was. After 2 months went by I needed a refill for a script. 2 pharmacies and myself tried for over a month to get him to refill it. No messeges back, no phone calls after repeat requests. I ended up being without the meds for 4 days until my referring Dr. filled it. i was than experiencing adverse effects and contacted my referring Dr. to see if I could get a referral to another Dr. since I no longer have trust in him or his office. She talked with them and said they were going to call me to talk later that after noon. Tomorrow will be one week and I have not heard form the office yet. I am not having someone that cant even call me when I need them to do surgery on me.

Excellent
My Mother had 2 - 20lb cysts removed by Dr. Adelson. Her Primary Dr.(NP) at FHN never questioned her Enormous abdomen growth! It wasn’t until she was scheduled for a colonoscopy attthat A Dr. who had never seen her before said “ What is wrong, why is your stomach SO big?!!!!! Finally! Someone cared enough to schedule her with a specialist and Dr. Adelson removed the cysts and a full hysterectomy! He was very informative about everything! Would highly recommend

Dr. Adelson is who you want to go to if you are facing a gyn surgical procedure. Yes, the telehealth appointments are impersonal and you may feel like just another patient in line but rest assured he is extremely thorough and you will have a great surgical outcome.

All appointments were online. Staff is rude and they only communicate with you through Patient Fusion Website. So if you miss the email you miss important information. There is no warm fuzzy personal care treatment from his staff or Dr. Adelanto as he never returns calls. I had a surgery scheduled this week but I canceled. He is not digging in my personal private areas not having met this man face to face and the lack of effective communication.

The only way you can communicate with Dr. Adelson post surgery is through his patient portal. There is not even a nurse you can speak to. This is unacceptable.
