I had heard that there was a new, minimally-invasive procedure, called PAE, that was being performed that dramatically reduced the size of the prostate, which eradicated problems with urinary function. After researching what I could on the subject, I contacted NYU Langone's Department of Urology, and was referred to Dr. Cedillo. After a wonderful, 40-minute consultation with this young, talented doctor, I was sold on the procedure. I was so impressed with this doctor's patience with answering questions, his calm demeanor and obvious confidence in his specialized skills in the Urology field. Within a week after the consultation, I was contacted by his office staff and was quickly scheduled for the surgery. The pleasant support staff efficiently and quickly prepared me for the surgery, alleviating my anxiety. The procedure was over in a couple of hours and I was sent home that night. After 3 weeks, they removed my catheter and I was immediately able to urinate with little effort!
