I would strongly recommend against seeing this physician. I was having some issues with my mouth and told her that I had some oral surgery done last week. I told her this so that she would be careful given that I had stitches in my mouth still. She was not careful and the site of the surgery was significantly damaged. I will need to get the procedure done again now. She did not take responsibility for causing the damage either. It was the most disappointing doctor's visit I have had in my life.

Dr. McElwain quickly identified my throat problem, recommended treatment, and has been following up on my progress. She is very knowledgeable in her field and on related conditions that could affect ENT. I would recommend her to everyone I know.

Dr. McElwain's office always get us in quickly when we are experiencing difficulties. She does a thorough exam and points us to another specialist when needed. Most of the time she quickly identifies and solves the problem. She will take the time to listen and is very knowledgeable . We feel confident when we have an ear, nose, sinus, or throat problem that it will be diagnosed and solved when we go to her.

She saw my son for an enlarged tonsil and suggested that we have them removed. I had a few additional questions that I wanted to talk to her about b4 surgery bc I was concerned that this enlargement could be malignant (he is asymptomatic and had previously had an enlarged lymph node behind the same ear). I asked if I could get a call back from the dr. but the dr. said that if I had questions that I needed to schedule another appt. Busy or Not.. I can't believe she wouldn't even call me back!!

She did not listen to me when I tried to explain what was happening with me. She acted like I was not truthful with her when I told her this sore throat was a new onset & that I was having difficulty swallowing my own saliva. Her staff did not know how to take a proper BP & did not know how to use the thermometer. I had to tell them to put a cover on it & they still did not use the ear thermometer correctly. I had to ask her what she was doing & why & she was not happy that she had to explain
