Dr. Maria Yonahara, MD

Dr. Yonahara was compassionate yet frank & clear in her explanation of her diagnosis of my illness.She gave me very practical advice and was very patient regarding my concerns. After following her instructions, I have recovered. I was very, very impressed and felt very fortunate that she was able to make time for me. Bottom line: Because she was so frank, I was able to take real steps In improving my health. We should have more brilliant doctors like her.

I took my mom to her after our PCP moved and was referred to her. The first thing she told us at our first visit was that she didn’t have an assistant, and she didn’t want to deal with all the paperwork that’s involved if a patient lives at The Plaza. How totally unprofessional!! So if you or your family is at any of The Plaza locations….DON’T GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!

Very poor bedside manner. Talked down to you and impatience doctor.

Very bad experience with this doctor. Refused to see me at First and then diagnosed me without ever looking at me with something the emergency room later said was a totally wrong diagnosis. Don’t go there.

What can I say. Just very disappointing. In these trying times, you’d expect a little compassion, especially from the medical field. Unfortunately that’s just not the case. Dropped us in one of the scariest times in human history. No help on even where to go next. Gotta keep the record clean I guess.

She documents services she does not provide. She documents explaining conditions she never discusses. She does not listen to the patient. She diagnoses conditions outside of her specialty area, like she she told me I definitely had arthritis and a rheumatologist and pediatrist both said she was wrong. She documents she provides nutrition therapy. Not true. When my iron was low her staff called to tell me to "eat more spinach" over the phone. I'm a dietitian, so I know that is very bad advice!

0/0. I was shocked by how poor this doctor's bedside manner is. The only thing she was good at was taking the information other doctors had given me and telling me they were wrong. She gave me an opinion before even looking at my xrays and when I forced her to do so, her opinion changed. How is that ethical? My time was completely wasted. Google has better bedside manners and listening than this one. Her student who met with me first was far superior to Yonahara who needs to retire in mho.
