Terrible Experience
I had the following problems with Dr Vintimilla:The office environment is terrible! There were con webs and dirt all over the place and the windows were so dirty. The office is very small and had a very unpleasant odor. They gave me six pages of paperwork to fill out. This was extremely difficult as I only had three working fingers due to my arthritis that I was there to get help for! This not only made my condition worse but it took me an hour to finish. All of the time they took other patients in front of me and put me way behind! Dr. Ventimilla seemed rushed and had a very bad bedside manner. She never even listened to me and this appointment was a complete waste of time. This is a highly unprofessional office.

She actually said to me that RA only affects hands
She was very dismissive of the records I took with me from labs and tests. She said ra doesn't affect anything but hands and feet.

Joint problems? This is the doctor to see.
Fever, fatigue, weight loss, joint pains- I had no idea that I had an autoimmune disease I'd never heard of. I got a timely appointment and Dr. Vintimilla diagnosed and described my condition, She prescribed medication and followed my recovery over several months. Her office staff runs a smooth operation. There was never a problem with appointments, check-in or check-out. I spent little time in the busy waiting room or in the examination room while waiting for her. I highly recommend Dr. Vintimilla.

Misleading doctor
What she was telling me about my symptoms / medical issues was not what she was writing in my chart. Beware - always request a copy of your medical records, especially if you insist on seeing her. When I questioned her about this she was evasive and soon after stated that she will no longer be seeing me anymore as a patient. Suspicious.

I have been a patient of this Dr for 3 years now. I find her to be very caring and sympathetic to my needs. Drs offices work like any other business- they like to get paid. If you don't cancel in a timely manner, then it's their call whether they see you again. Habitual no shows cost them $$. I had to cancel hours before, and she didn't charge me. But, if it becomes a habit, I'm sure she will. She allows me to be my own advocate. It's my body, if I choose to not take drugs- it's my right. Love Dr V!

I went in with every single thing on the list of lupus. My feet turn blue daily. I’m in so much pain I’m exhausted. I have the rash across my face. All of this started July 12. Put me on cymbalta and said it’s fibromyalgia because she can only diagnose me from my blood tests. But..Fibromyalgia doesn’t show up on a blood test. Hhm! I’ve seen a neurologist who said I’m showing classic signs of lupus. A teledoc even commented on my rash. My gyno pointed it out as well. Everything I said hurt she said “ I don’t know what that is” “ I don’t know why your feet are blue” “ I don’t know why your peeing your pants” “ the red on your face is rosacea “ which is funny because she has never looked under my mask. Even though I have pictures of my face and of my feet. She will not look at them. It’s very disturbing. Probably why I got in so quickly with her because others have a wait list till April. Seeking another dr! I had to ask her to raise my cymbalta to 60 mg for pain. She should of offered.

I saw Dr. Vintamilla for 6 years because my primary care Dr said I tested positive for lupus. Dr. V said I would be taking Plaquinil for the rest of my life or risk organ damaamage. I was asymptomatic for 6 years and the doctor ordered a full blood panel, and said results were still positive for lupus. My new rheumatologist ordered another battery of tests and said it appears she did not consider the fact that I had hypothyroidism which show false indicators for lupus. For 6 years she did not notice that. On top of all that, it took 3 months and many phone calls to get her staff to fax my medical records.

I saw Dr. Vintimilla about 3 years ago and she was not willing to investigate my pain any further than a blood test. My pain has gotten worse so I thought I would try her again. When I got to the office the staff was more concerned about getting my money than my health. Before I even saw the doctor I was told I had to pay the entire visit in advance because of my deductible and that if I had owed her any money from a previous visit, she would not see me. I told them I would be looking for a more compassionate doctor and left the office.

I'm no longer a patient of Dr. Vintimilla because she doesn't accept my insurance. However, she recommended me to another physician. I requested records be sent to the new physician.... was told they were sent.... tried to schedule another appt with new doctor-records not sent.... called Dr. V office again- records sent- again NOT sent.... frustrated- it's not February 2021... asked if I could come pick up records.... was told yes.. but I would be charged a fee! Really???? so yes, i decided to pick records up.... why was I charged 65.00-IF records were never sent from Dr. V office??

Do not bother seeing her unless you have a straight forward positive blood test result. She does not dig any deeper and will not help you. Referred me to a pain specialist . A waste of my time & money.

Disappointed! – Nov 05, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Vintimilla?
Dr. Vintamilla is compassionate and listens to me at every appointment. She asks how my medications are making me feel and then adjusts appropriately. It took some time, but the medications are helping. If you miss your appointment or no show without 24 hours notice; her office is like any other, you will get a "no show" fee - my pcp does the same. I highly recommend this doctor and the staff in New Symrna and Port Orange have been nothing but nice and helpful.

My time being Doctor Vintimilla's patient was truly AWFUL. Except for one lady the staff was rude & uncaring .Today I was told I could not see Doctor Vintimilla unless I paid $50 for being a no show the day before and I was not going to get anymore medications until she saw me ...Blackmail ?????? My car had broken down the day before and I was late . I called to explain but they told me I had gone over the 15 minutes & could not be seen until the next day. I am finding a new Doctor who CARES !

I have been seeing Dr Vintimilla for years. She NEVER listens at my appointment. I pay my copay, sit and wait. Only for her to ask the same questions. I tried to talk with her about how I feel my SLE was getting worse. She was not concerned at all. She is supposed to be the specialist who helps me. She has done nothing. I am transferring care to a new Rheum, My advise- do not bother with her!!!!!! Also, nurse Kristen is not friendly at all
