Dr. Maria Udrea, MD

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Udrea for years and I love her so much that when I had to switch insurance and she was no longer in my plan, I still see her and pay out of pocket.

I went to see her because I wanted to remove my IUD and start planning for a family, she was very dismissive of my questions/concerns, when I asked her about prenatal pills she told me there was a pharmacy across the street. I felt uncomfortable with her in general.

I have been a patient of Dr. Udrea’s for 10 years and she has treated me with so much respect and care the entire time. Back I September, I experienced a miscarriage. Dr. Halfhill was the resident on staff, she immediately came down to the ER to help me through the absolute terrible experience. She explained everything that was happening and checked on me personally the next day. Although I did not see Dr. Udrea for the experience she too called to check on me and provide additional support and care. They truly put patients first. In addition to the physicians their staff is amazing too! When I go in for my appointments the nurses are always friendly and personable. I’m pregnant again and the staff always promptly responds to my 1000 questions and does not hesitate to see me if I have addressing concerns. Recently, I had a scare and Dr.Vasquez immediately took me in to do everything to keep my baby and I safe! This team is truly amazing!

She was very dismissive of my questions/concerns about hospital protocol during Covid at my 28 week appointment. She cut me off saying, "It's so early - you won't have to worry about that for a long time" ...Oh, so let's just ignore my worries as a FTM, the pandemic, and preterm labor even though I'm high risk... Also, she read my chart wrong and started the appointment telling me I needed to rein it in because I had gained 8 lbs when in fact I had lost 3. Maybe she didn't read my chart at all because when I had questions about my scar tissue from surgery at 13 weeks, she asked, "What surgery?!" I only saw her because I wanted to meet every doctor at the practice but I honestly hope she's on vacation when I go into labor because if I see her (especially if I'm preterm) I will lose it.

I was unexpectedly pregnant for the first time at my prenatal appt with Dr. Udrea. She barely asked me anything about myself. All she asked was, “Are you excited?” I said I felt overwhelmed and was trying to figure out what I wanted to do. She immediately shut down, was cold, would barely answer my questions, and seemed in a rush to get me out. She also lied to me when I asked how long I had to make the decision to keep the baby, she said “Basically right now.” I’m only 6 wks along ??

Dr Udrea is incredibly empathetic and knowledgable. I am so grateful to have found her. I recommend her to everyone I know! I have had bad experiences with some other doctors. She is so kind and supportive. Will be sticking with her. My sister goes to her also and really likes her too.
