She was outstanding. She combined great expertise, relevant questioning and careful listening with a friendly accessible attitude. There was not even a hint of the intimidating sense of superiority some doctors emanate. My experience in this first-time visit was excellent, A+++.

I'm not sure if she is fully experienced in her field. She tends to copy what other doctors did and doesn't really provide any information or full answers to my questions. She seems nice but not professional. When it comes to communication, many issues occurred like sending my prescription to the wrong pharmacy every time or having the wrong address on my file even after confirming.

I'm not sure what the purpose was in my being sent to her to be evaluated for intracranial hypotension. She meandered through my history and I could see that key facts were lost on her--such as the immediate hormonal changes following my feeling my brain drop and the connection to the pituitary in CSF leaks. I had hoped to spend the time in an objective, in-depth review of imaging but instead it felt like a sales pitch for nerve blockers, etc. Once again, the plight of the low pressure patient was totally lost on an Emory doctor. We are typically previously active people. Yes, we are in pain. But all we want is the anchor that is our heavy brain to be lifted so we can see from the optic nerve strain, not have our heart fight to increase ICP when upright, not have our BP randomly drop out (super scary), and not have seizures from the brain bouncing. All we want is for our brains to be up. It is inhumane to see us as a sales opportunity when the fix is simple.

Dr Silva was thorough and thoughtful. She spent much more time with me than I expected and answered all of my questions. I left my appointment feeling both heard and seen. She has responded quickly to my follow up concerns via the patient portal.

I seen this provider and her PA or NP, but I was not satisfied with the communication. I had concerns about pain in my wrists radiating up my arms. I wanted to be checked for carpal tunnel issues. She ordered a nerve test on my lower extremities. I asked why. The nurse got an attitude b/c I needed an explanation. The provider was suppose to contact me, but never did. My pharmacist has called her 2x to get a Rx to provide a 90-day supply of migraine med b/c it’s cheaper, but she want call back.

Would never recommend her to anyone! Poor communication, poor follow up, and minimizes patient symptoms.

Dr. Silva is exactly what you hope the Physician will be; attentive, responsive, and thorough. She took the time to discuss her initial thoughts, our options and discussed the next steps. After seeing three other metro area Doctors, she is the only one that actually made me feel that she would help us through this ordeal. Thank you.
