Very difficult to reach Dr. Aloba. It took almost one year after relocating to Texas to become established with the practice. I have seen Dr. Aloba once while hospitalized since 2020. I only see a nurse practitioner. I would not recommend this practice but sadly it's the only one in El Paso.

Negative experience with Dr. Aloba
Dr. Aloba treated my husband this year. I am a retired medical clinic director, not overly sensitive about how doctors treat patients. My husband first saw her in January 2024. While he was receiving treatment, I had to have a life-threatening surgery. My treatment disrupted his for about 8 weeks. As a result, he delayed by a month or so having a petscan Dr. Aloba had ordered. On our last visit, she coldly advised us that he now had Stage 4 cancer that had spread. She showed no compassion, and criticized us repeatedly for not having the petscan when she ordered it because it kept her from having an accurate baseline of his condition, as if that was all that mattered. After that visit, my husband terminated treatment with Texas Oncology. Cancer treatment is brutal enough without this kind of treatment from a doctor who should have better training and supervision. There are many negative reviews and a low rating for this doctor. I wonder whether they are ever addressed, or even read.

SADLY, this Dr does not provide the critical care for cancer patient. Does not return calls, left 4 messages and an office visit. I was Referred to a radiologist and did not follow up with the results, got upset and. Said I don’t have time to be chasing after them. Another Referral to an out of state surgeon, our insurance wasn’t accepted , she or office return our calls for a follow up. Looking for another oncologist.

Does not return phone calls, even when I have gone directly to the office. Doesn’t explain treatment or follow up with referrals.

She has too many patients under her care.
Dr. Aloba has the capacity to be a good physician, but she has entirely too many patients to oversee. She doesn't have the time to provide the detailed, meticulous care cancer patients need. She glosses over results and is not addressing critical information. If she can't, won't, or isn't equipped to address the complex needs of a cancer patient, she should be honest so that patients can seek care elsewhere. In speaking with other patients at the infusion clinic, it seems Texas Oncology in general needs an overhaul. Staff follow-through is poor, and they show little to no empathy for a cancer patient's plight. Why isn't Texas Oncology's leadership team involved in addressing these serious issues? Where is Dr. R. Steven Paulson (President and CEO of Texas Oncology)? Why aren't Dr. Susan Escudier and Dr. Vance Esler informed of these problems? My understanding is that they are the Regional Medical Directors.

I hate going to see Dr Aloba because they are always contradicting themselves especially her. She says one thing and then at the time of next visit she changes everything. She doesn’t take her time, always rushed. You set an appointment like 3 months ahead, you plan to take that day off and let your employer know, get it approved and then they call you 3 days before your scheduled appointment just to change it for the following day like if I’m just home available whenever they feel like it. Not even apologizing for the inconvenience. That’s why I’m changing doctors!!

Dr. Aloba was my oncologist 3 years ago. She was thoughtful, knowledgeable and saw me through my treatment of lung caner. Her lovely smile and positive attitude were so encouraging. I have moved away but will never for get her care through a challenging dianosis.
