Make you feel like you’re crazy
I’ve been seeing Dr. Magnussen for a few years now and he has always seemed on the cold side. Definitely does not have bedside manners as some have said. Maybe a short memory, because questioning why I was on medication you prescribed me, when I’ve said from the very beginning I don’t usually feel headaches, it is more of a dull pressure in the forehead and face. To which you told me that you don’t have to have a headache with a migraine…… I know grappling at straws to find a diagnose, and pinpointing where symptoms are originating, is frustrating, for me at least, I’m not sure if it’s just annoying for him, he sure behaves that way. Taking me off all my medicine and leaving me with no further treatment, isn’t helpful. Probably should refer me to another neurologist who specializes more in my issues if you are not comfortable. Thumbs up. Not.

He was not the caliber of Doctor I would have expected from JMW. Was irritated when he walked in the room. One point he dropped chart on desk and shoved it. I was not explaining myself very well. So I understand the frustration. However I just felt defeated as I left, no hope of getting better. If you want your hand held, definitely not the doctor for you.

I was not impressed with Dr. Magnussen. Not friendly and took a long time to get an appointment because he kept cancelling. I was impressed, however, with his nurse practitioner, Emily. She explained everything and was a good listener and actually cared - unlike the doctor!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Magnussen for years now and he is probably one of the best doctors that I’ve ever had. He really takes the time to get to know you and your medical background. For him it’s not just about your neurological problems but everything about you. He takes a fair amount of time to figure out what’s best for you and he makes sure that you are comfortable with the course of action suggested in your care. I would highly recommend Dr. Magnussen.

Spent very little time with me. Took months to get an appointment. Was a few minutes late and zero people in the waiting room and he denied me my visit. Did not inform me I would be having an appointment with his NP instead of him. His NP was extremely rude. Made me do many painful tests which his office somehow lost or never got the results of. I do not recommend this doctor.
