Dr. Marc Fried, MD

I was given an appointment with Dr. Fried through Kaiser, not knowing anything about him. I was at the beginning of my fertility journey and hoping to do some baseline testing and get an ultrasound to see if anything stood out. Also, my grandmother died at a young age from ovarian cancer and I wanted to make sure I was on top of that. When Dr. Fried looked at my age and realized I was trying to get pregnant, he said- and I quote: "It will be impossible for you to get pregnant at your age." and " Have you considered getting a dog?" A DOG?! The nurse in the room wouldn't even look me in the eye after he said that. Well, wouldn't you know, a week later I found out I was indeed pregnant. Which was awesome, but beside the point. I couldn't and still can't believe that a doctor in LA would be so quick to judge me based on my age and not based on anything about me. It was a super traumatizing appointment and I will be writing a formal complaint as well. Highly do not recommend Dr. Fried.

This doctor is awful. I was told by him that I was experiencing a potential dangerous pregnancy loss and he instructed me to go to the ER to get a D&C immediately. When I expressed a desire to wait he sternly told me "THERE IS NO BABY HERE" while pointing at the ultrasound machine. Wow, nice beside manner. I went to the ER as instructed where radiology did another scan, and informed there was a baby with a heartbeat and did I really want to go through with a D&C? Not a knowledgable doctor and horrible beside manner on top of it. Bad combination. See someone (anyone) else.
