The kindest, gentlest doctor you will ever meet
My son has been seen by Dr. Callender twice at AAMC ER, at 4yo and 7yo. Dr Callender is soft spoken with a very calming demeanor. Very thorough and excellent bedside manner. He explains everything, you are never rushed. He let my son know what was happening through the whole process, which was wonderful as he has some anxiety around doctors and hospitals. My 7yo son says, "the nicest doctor I've ever met". He made us feel so comfortable; he is a genuinely kind doctor who truly cares for his patients. I wish he was my son's primary care provider! I cannot sing his praises enough. Rest assured, if he is your doctor, you are in the best hands.

Got to meet Dr. Callender in ER when I bright our little one. Prior to getting to this ER we were let go from Patient First where they didn’t bother checking child’s respiratory rate who came in with shortness of breath as main symptom. Dr Callender was very knowledgeable, extremely respectful and patient. A big guy with gentle bedside manners. As a physician myself- I’m very glad we had a pleasure being seen by this doc.
