Unprofessional and immature
This doctor was very unprofessional and dismissive, completely claiming that “nothing is wrong, I don’t know why you’re here”. She repeatedly commented on the fact that she does not treat EDS after she was told numerous times that we weren’t even here for that. She refused to listen to real symptoms and kept insisting I was healthy because I had no rash and my eyes didn’t burn, whatever that means. I had my mother with me, who had been upset for obvious reasons(no one was helping us and we’d waited for around a year and a half to get an appointment from our referral), yet she felt the need to point out that she was being “disrespectful” and her “tone” was too confrontational. In her visit summary, she wrote about the tense interaction and the disrespectful tone supposedly being used and made a note that we had only been waiting less than 3 months(which is false). She wrote in false statements and quotations, claiming untrue things. I’m out of characters, but there was much more.

Dr. Horwitz is out of this world excellent! You can tell she cares deeply about her patients and has such a respectful way to communicate with children. She remembers personal details like how my daughter loves to use the monkey bars which shows this personal connection and care for helping them improve their activities that bring them joy. Mostly, I appreciate how long she spends with us. We drive an hour to see her, and she spends what feels like at least 45 minutes with us. This helps so much, and makes me feel she cares about answering all our questions and providing my daughter the best treatment plan possible.
