Hip Rreplacement
Had hip replacement in March of 2022 am 99% recovered - slight stiffens if sitting too long. Outside of that, got may active life back. To my pleasant surprise, the incision is beginning to disappear. If needing the other hip replaced, he is the surgeon I would use. Not enough stars to indicate how happy I am with the surgery results.

Knee replacement
As long as everything goes ok he is fine. If you have a problem his attitude changes very quickly. Found him to be very condescending and with no empathy or bedside manner.

Dr. Porat replaced my knee. Perfect. I was in PT two days after surgery and by 6 weeks I never even thought about it.

My initial meeting with Dr. Porat on June 18, 2020, went very well. My medical situation is complicated in that I need to have a knee and a hip replaced. He listened intently and responded in detail to all of my questions. I will have my hip replaced first. We discussed the procedure in detail to my satisfaction, and I am looking forward to hip replacement surgery in a few weeks. I put my complete trust and confidence in Dr. Porat’s skill as a surgeon.

Dr. Porat came highly recommended and my son and I were very glad that we chose him for my hip (11/18) and knee (5/19) replacement surgeries. He was very open about everything, answered all of my questions as well as my sons. Both of my surgeries went very well, no issues for either and my scar’s are almost totally gone. So very glad I did the surgeries and Thank you Dr. Porat!!

Dr. Porat was first very friendly and pleasant. He was upfront with my condition and laid out my options for treatment. He administered an injection. in my knee, encoraged me to relax, and I didn't even feel it to my surprise( and I had injections in knee joint before). I would recommend Dr.Porat to those seeking an orthopedic physician.

Dr Porat's demeanor is unprofessional. He was demeaning and disrespectful. He diagnosed simply by my MRI results and never examined me about the location of the pain as well as other indicators, even though osteoarthritis and bursitis share some of the same symptoms, so he should have examined me and asked appropriate questions to diagnose my condition. When I went to another doctor, I got a full examination and appropriate treatment. Beware of someone who recommends a total hip replacement when bursitis is the real cause of your pain. That latter required a cortisone shot and physical therapy, not body part replacement.

It seemed that Dr Porat couldn't care less. He never asked me anything about the pre-visit questionnaire they insisted I complete and in which I intentionally answered yes and no to several questions. He recorded my current medications inaccurately. I can't imagine what would happen if I let him operate on me or why he is a "doctor". He didn't seem to care about my pain or how I was feeling. I am very grateful there are many other surgeons to go to.

Dr. Porat was rude, arrogant, and condescending. The way he introduced himself to me was to open the door to the room in which I was waiting, stand in the hall and tell me that he wanted me to go with _____ for x-rays, in spite of the x-rays and an MRI that I already provided. After I went for the x-rays and was back in the same room, he came in and introduced himself to me. Throughout the consultation he answered several of my questions with another question, never really answering my question.

When I first visited Dr. Porat i thought he was fine to do my knee replacement. Set a date, had lab work and CT scan, met with a PA 10 days before scheduled surgery. Three visits to this facility which was 90 minutes from my home. On the third visit is where you sign the consents and that's where the trouble started. This doctor wants to force you to sign a consent allowing him to teach in the OR with his students touching/feeling the site. Also wants you to consent to videos/photos. Refused

I've been in hospital and health care administration for over 35 years and have worked with many physicians on a daily basis. Dr. Porat is very professional and knowledgeable. Had hip replacement surgery. He used the anterior approach which cuts recuperation time significantly. Home the day after surgery. He is an outstanding provider. Highly recommended.

Dr. Porat performed both of my knee replacement surgeries (at separate times). Each time, I found him to be a caring and compassionate physician who truly listens to his patients and patients' concerns. He never minimized my anxiety and did his best to make sure I had a genuine understanding of the surgical process, the treatment plan and the recovery expectations. I feel so very fortunate to have had Dr. Porat as my doctor!
