Dr. Malik Mossa-Basha, MD

Following a lumbar fusion in May 2024, I was extreme pain ten days later. My neurosurgeon sent me directly to the emergency department in June. A CT scan was ordered. Unfortunately, Basham reviewed the results. His report indicated that I was post-op and 'the hardware was intact.' I was given this report by the hospitalist. I was admitted, relieved to believe that there was no hardware failure. Thankfully, my neurosurgeon reviewed the imaging himself. The following day, he informed me that the 'radiologist' missed the fact that two screws were loose. That's rare, but it happens. I was devastated. For an entire day, I was led to believe that everything was okay. This is inexcusable. How do I now trust the results of any scan in the future? And maybe the worst of it all, as a patient, you can't choose the radiologist who reads your images.

so the radiologist said I had absolutely nothing other than fatty liver and that all other organs were normal....including the appendix being normal....funny since I had a burst appendix in 1966 when I was 4 and almost died and still have that scar???? Also anuerism on spleen in October and now in August my spleen is somehow normal yet I'm in terrible pain. hmmmmmm
