RUDE OFFICE RECEPTIONIST
Facts: Have attempted to get prescription refill for my son for 3 weeks No one ever answers the phone. Phone ALWAYS goes to voicemail. I have even been in the office and watched receptionist send calls to voicemail when she isnt doing anything. Receptionist states my son hasnt had any injectable med since June. I am a nurse and administer it to him every month. Makes one questions their record keeping...My son is now due for his injectable medicine and the office is refusing to call even one months' worth in until my son has a 'Virtual Appointment'. Tell me this office isnt about the alighty $ instead of the patient.....

Does not listen to patients or accurately assess
I did not feel listened to by Dr. Surakanti. I quickly learned to come prepared with my own questions, as appointments are short and you have to advocate for yourself as a patient. I never was assessed at my first appointment, and he barely looked at my brief history and presenting concerns. He also did not properly inform me of side effects of medications, despite me specifically asking and him dismissing and saying there were absolutely none (which was not true).I started having more doubts about Dr. Surakanti when a medication I was trying out for awhile (and had been told takes longer to work), greatly increased my suicidal ideation to a concerning level. I was told to contact him if this happened, so I did, and he told me to just power through the suicidal ideation (despite this being a major, recurrent issue for me). I understand it's important to give meds proper time to work, but a doctor should trust the patient's experience and help them with other alternatives. Whether it'

Appalled at Horrible Experience
Checked in. Office staff had 'forgotten' to get insurance approval in advance. Waited an hour for approval. Caretakers brought in a young man with severe issues - which included, banging head on wall, screaming, lunging forward toward other patients and caretakers lunging to stop him (place the poor guy in a vacant office), check-in clerk with long, hot pink, fluorescence nails, Madonna playing loudly 'Bump and Grind'. The office was SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I did not read reviews in advance. READ REVIEWS. Yes, you can get an appt sooner with him, but there is a reason for that.

Unprofessional and Rude!
This man cares nothing about his patients. He is unprofessional, rude, and uncaring. He doesn’t listen to your concerns and rushes your appointment. I am so glad that I left his office!

Disappointed Patient – Jan 29, 2022
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Surakanti?
I have been a patient of Dr. Surakanti for over ten years now, and I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to improve their mental health. He is very compassionate and very understanding of the trials and tribulations of everyday life. He is not a “Dr. Feelgood” in that he does not dish out medication without exploring all of the avenues for a better life. Dr. Surakanti is a doctor who truly cares about his patients.

When I started going to Dr. have Surakanti I had been on anti-depressants for years and my family doctor tried changing different medications they would work good for about a month and then I would go down again after recommending I see a psychiatrist I finally tried to get in to Dr. Surakanti. I called and was told because of the covid-19 he was not taking new patients or seeing people in office. I finally called and explained my situation and they set me up. I was very impressed with his knowledge of what I needed and the staff was very friendly. I was feeling pretty good about 1 week after starting the new medication. I have been seeing him a few months and am very happy with him and his staff.

Prescribed one medication and when i tried to tell him it was making me worse he just said fine then we wont give you anything. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!
