This doctor gives no information and asks no questions during the consultation. I went there for a broken wrist but she never even asked what I do for a living. Overlooked Osteopenia which her colleague found using the same images. (this can turn into Osteoporosis without treatment). She recommended I wear a brace that she did not check, and made things worse. She gave no instruction on how the brace should be worn and little to no information for OT to understand post cast care.

Rude and doesn’t care
Dr. Young wasn’t warm and friendly at all and seemed not to care about my condition because she never took the time to explain what was wrong with my hand or what might have caused my pain. She just came in the room looked at my hand for few seconds and said I have 2 options, surgery or a shot which may not work. She was pushing surgery on me and I told her I wanted the shot but she got an attitude with me and right then I could tell she just wants the money. She got up and slammed the door behind her which was very rude.

She treated my hand condition with great care.
She had a sense of humor regarding my finger condition and it made me laugh. She was easy to deal with and knew what she was doing. I was very impressed with her.

Nurse is rude. Went for wrist injury. Told nurse I had xray in February. Her response? " that was February this is March " left with visit after useless xray learning nothing new about pain I've experienced for over two months, no treatment no new ideas. Total waste of insurance and time.

Wow, I’m leaving this review after reading Dr. Mae Young’s reviews at another address. I’m sorry that I didn’t leave a review after she performed right wrist surgery on me in 2017. I found Dr. Young very pleasant and thorough. She gave me advise and exercises before surgery became necessary. She gets right to the point and does not make conversation unrelated to your medical need. She took a complete orthopedic history as I came with multiple orthopedic problems.

On initial visit she took x-rays of my hand and spent less than 2 minuets with me in the exam room. She said it was arthritis and gave me a splint. Totally useless visit. Dr Young was uncaring and would not listen to my concerns. I got a second opinion and saw another doctor. He quickly diagnosed an inflamed tendon. He injected it with steroids and sent me to PT.

Had wrist pain for a while and made an appointment to see the first available doctor in Columbia, Sc area. I was given an X-ray first. She came in, did not ask much and then give me prescription to take painkiller for half a year. The total time spent is less than 5 minutes. Not a caring and knowledgeable doctor. I wouldn't recommend her to others.

Doesn't listen to patients. She read the X-ray and made up her mind before entering the exam room. Said it was rheumatoid arthritis. I tried to tell her it wasn't, but she refused to listen and told me to see Rheumatologist, who did ultrasound and diagnosed tendon was out of sheath, causing numbness and pain. Definitely would not recommend this doctor until she learns to listen to her patients.

She was wonderful! I saw her after breaking my wrist. She was very thorough with the exam and explained the break and need for surgery. She was able to get me scheduled for the next day which I really appreciated. The surgery went well and I am now healing. I would recommend her to everyone.

Dr. Young has no idea what she is doing. She never gave me the report from my MRI/Arthrogram which states the problems. She also said there is nothing wrong with my wrist but the next step would be surgery. That was so confusing to me I started bringing my friend with me to my visits so I could have a witness to the incompetence. She is the worst doctor I have ever experienced.I would also like to point out when I didn't have anyone with me as a witness I was treated worse by her and her nurse.

Have tingling and numbness in first finger and thumb. Tested for carpal tunnel (even though I don't have normal symptoms for this) and didn't have it but have arthritis. I asked what could be causing the tingling in my hand and she just shrugged her shoulders. She did not seem to care. Won't be going back.
