Dr. Mae Healy, DO

Dr. Healy was supportive, informative, and kind to my husband and I while we were at Shady Grove. She and her staff (Tobey!!) were fast communicators and gave high quality patient care. From day one, we felt comfortable with Dr. Healy's style of educating and caring for us. While we were thrilled to 'graduate' to our regular OB, we were sad to leave! We highly recommend Dr. Healy for your fertility needs.

Dr. Healy took over our care at the end of our journey, but we wish we had her the entire time. She has been phenomenal! Her sense of humor helped calm us through all the scary moments and steps. She made it feel less like treatment and more like a journey. She has truly been such a blessing and anyone would be blessed to be able to work with her.

Dr. Healy and her nurse Colleen saw us through fertility treatments that turned out to be an emotional roller coaster. She was by our side every step of the way, ensuring that we received the best care! I am so grateful to Dr. Healy, Colleen, and the entire SGF Annapolis and Rockville teams for their role in helping us build our family.

I cannot express enough good things about Dr. Mae Healy (and her nurse Emily)! She has truly walked right along side us with ever test, result, diagnosis, exciting moment, all the way to graduation. She not only laughs with you, she educates you, and includes you. I will forever be grateful for her knowledge and work. I will definitely be back for our future children. Dr. Healy was definitely a huge blessing.

Honestly, the only words I can give is literally the best. Dr. Healy was there for my husband and I after our D&C, and we immediately wanted to switch to her. By a disguised blessing, we were able to and she was on the journey with us as we expect our new miracle baby. I would recommend Dr. Healy over and over and over! You are more than just a number to her. I just love her!

Dr. Healy and our nurse Katie were an amazing team to have in our corner during an emotional rollar coaster of visits, procedures, and finally a successful pregnancy!Throughout the entirety of being a patient with Shady grove Dr. Healy took the time to listen to both our fears and desires and get to know us as a couple. She was not a doctor who dictated our next steps but helped guide us through the different roads we could be facing with each decision we made. We chose the IUI path and had two pregnancies. We unfortunately went through a miscarriage with the first, but Dr. Healy continued to reassure us and went at the pace that was comfortable for us during that emotional time. Our second IUI has been successful and we have now graduated from SGF! We cannot thank Dr. Healy and Katie enough for their guidance, knowledge, and ultimately for helping us with our successful story!Now to look forward to March 2nd, 2025 when we get to welcome our Shady Grove baby into the world!!!

Dr Healy is hands down the best fertility doctor that you can have! She Is full of knowledge it makes a scary experience so easy and her laugh is contagious !! My husband and I went through the entire IVF experience with her and now we are blessed to say that we are pregnant. Dr. Healy is so kind and selfless she is one of the kindest people that I’ve ever met. I definitely recommend her for any fertility treatments that people may need. We would never choose anyone else to handle our care. If you were looking for fertility doctor look no more she is hands-down, the best.

If I could give Dr. Healy more than 5 stars I would! Dr. Healy is the best provider I have ever had the experience of working with, across all medical professions. She is so attentive and truly cares for her patients mental, physical, and emotional well being. She always made sure to talk us through each and every step of our IUI journey and even drew diagrams to help thoroughly explain the procedures! She truly is such a kind hearted and well loved person. Dr. Healy has been a tremendous blessing in our lives and I couldn’t imagine having gone through our pregnancy journey without her. I have and will continue to refer anyone who is on their reproductive journey to Dr. Healy! If my wife and I decide to have another child, we will even fly from California to Maryland to have her as our provider! Thank you again for everything Dr. Healy! Words can not describe how much Dr. Healy has touched our lives. For over 15 years, my wife and I have experienced several challenges with fertility. Despite the long road of uncertainty, Dr. Healy treated our fertility issues with the utmost care and oversight. Even when there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel, she exhausted all options available to ensure a healthy, successful pregnancy. Our lives have have changed forever and we are very grateful to have her on this long journey to life’s very special gift. As we continue our journey to our baby boy’s arrival here soon, let it be known that Dr. Healy has played a pivotal part in this process. Dr. Healy is incredible. She supported us throughout our 3 year infertility journey and if it wasn't for her skill and belief in my uterus I wouldn't have my bundle of joy. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Healy. She treats you like family and takes the time in getting to know you and work to find the right protocol. Dr. Healy was so supportive of my wife and I. She worked with us to make sure we understood what is going on, took in consideration our wants and needs, and made sure we were comfortable with everything. She was so friendly, helpful, supportive, and knowledgable. Hands down the best doctor I’ve ever had! Dr. Healy makes it feel like she is right there with you as if she is on this journey as well. We had two IUI cycles and were already signed up to do my wife’s May egg retrieval, when we weren’t already pregnant we went ahead and decided to do reciprocal IVF. This is the kind of doctor you want when going through such an emotional and difficult process. I truly think she was the key to our SUCCESSFUL first reciprocal IVF cycle. We are now 22 weeks pregnant and will always be grateful for Dr. Healy helping us start our family.

I seen dr Healy for about 3 years during my infertility journey, I honestly believe I would not have been able to successfully get pregnant without her care and persistence. During the entire process she remind hopeful and kind which in return gave me the hope I needed to continue with treatments. I am due in February with twin girls. She has forever changed my life and my husbands life in best way possible.

After undergoing several surgeries for the same condition affecting my fertility with multiple different OB/GYN doctors, I was fortunately referred to Dr. Healy. She is incredible, brilliant, and compassionate, and most of all she never gave up on me! 10/10 recommend!!!

Dr. Healy was mine and my wife’s physician when we were undergoing IVF at NMCSD. She is an outstanding physician, but more than that she is an amazing human. She is kind and compassionate and actually cares about her patients, which sometimes seems to be a rarity in medicine these days. My wife struggled with having a second child and Dr. Healy was there for every step of the way. When you struggle with pregnancy loss I can’t explain how much it means to have a physician that is there supporting you and helping you pick up the pieces when everything seems like it’s impossible. My wife and I are expecting out second child in January 2024, all thanks to Dr. Healy. I can not recommend her strongly enough.

My wife and I saw Dr. Healy during our fertility journey in San Diego,CA over the span of two years. She was so patient with all my questions and was willing to discuss many different options to help us achieve our family. She always involved my wife and I in the medical decision making discussions throughout our journey and was always available to us. I consider her an LGBTQ+ fertility expert and a military medicine expert and am so grateful she helped us. She helped build many families during her time in Navy Medicine and I know will continue to do great things as she moves into her civilian practice.
