Has gone downhill.
Use to come to to office for years. Great doctor but over the years staff and doctor has gone downhill. Once you check in you have to wait over 1 hour to se taken back and then some waiting for the doctor. Honestly I think it's too many patients for 1 doctor. He has no backup doctor. Sad to say I would be changing doctors.

I like them a lot
I like him a lot. The personnel is very good in calling you for reming you of next appointment. He's good in explaining anything you want to know. When you complain of something he will do a very good job on test to see if there's anything wrong with you.

As sked 4 mos ago, supposed to see Dr. K 09/23/21 but early in the AM an office staff called to say that w/o PCP referral, appt had to be cancelled for another date. I was assured by my PCP that the referral was made already on 09/22/21! In all likelihood clinic staff concerned did not look at fax materials for had she did, the visit could have pushed through! Dr. K is good but it would seem that some staff members are not, to the detriment of Dr K himself and to his patients most of us being senior citizens of advanced age who need all medical attention in a timely manner. My PCP, rheumatologist, pulmonologist, and eye doctor invariably remind me at least 24 hrs before sked visit, thereby allowing time to secure a referral. Moreover, for old patients particularly, perhaps the specialist doctor through his staff can coordinate securing the requisite PCP referral/authorization, not for patient to be responsible for the same. 5 stars for Dr K, one star for appointment staff.

Every time I was seen by this doctor, 4 times so far he barely spent 3 minutes with me, and always appeared agitated, always rushing, does not appear to be concerned or interested in your care just a number. He does not allow nor want you to ask him any questions he gets louder & speaks faster, nor does he want to explain anything to you about the condition of your health, while reviewing my labs he skims over them overlooking the details I may have been concerned about then leaves. Bad doctor!

The wait time is exorbitant - 1 hr on the past 3 visits. Has difficulty with English. Thorough on reviewing patients' history/symptoms, but always in a hurry, not providing proper explanations. Staff cannot be trusted. His office had to send information to another MD and failed to do so, even though he was personally reminded (face-to-face) twice. Back office is a mess with patient's files 3'high on all tables/desks; have no plans to fix, as I asked Office Mgr. Selected another Cardiologist.

All Dr Kalakota cares about is his pocket. He insisted on having a pacemaker put in right after a bypass surgery. Once I refused, he got visibly frustrated and apocalyptic. A more trustworthy and knowledgeable cardiologist later told us that typically one has to wait a certain period of time to let a body recover before deciding on necessity of having a pacemaker inserted. Stay away at all costs!! A proper doctor always puts patients’ well-being before his/her wallet, not vice versa.
